The stranger being or not being Hunter might be red herring
So I have a little theory that goes opposite of the one everyone seems to throw around right now. I know many people think the stranger is Hunter. And there are things that make it appear that way, like how the stranger seems to have a bunch strange dreams and a close connection to Hunter, while we still don't know who they are.
But personally I think this is a red herring. I think we are supposed to question if he is Hunter throughout the game. But ultimatily it will be about the strangers guilt about something, which is why he nearly comes to that conclusion, but it will turn out to not actually be true. If you have seen Blade Runner 2049, I think about something similar here. The dark ones have a connection to Hunter and a connection to the stranger and I think this connection will purposefully build confusion around our identity.
A small thing, but I hope Aces are more like in 0 in 8. Of course also hope the skins are all cool. Would be sad if some from 7 did not return.
Tasha will do air tricks it seems. That lines up woth her character description.
So, it has been confirmed that the Story will only use Aircraft Carrier planes on first playthrough. This does make sense, but how do you feel about it? What will the final planes realistically be then?
I guess that means I will have to wait until NG+ to fly the SU-57 in a duel with Ares. It's good then that Ace Combat lives on replayability. I hope that actually means you can then just go plane crazy in the camapign after the first time. Would kinda suck if you can only fly in Free Play. I am no plane expert but does anyone know what Sukhoi planes this will include? I know Su-33, but what else.
For people who play cockpit, it's even more detailed now, with hand and leg movement.
Can we talk about how they just casually did a tunnel run to get targets. I know you can do it in the other titles, but I was surprised they would show it here. I guess it is a godd way to show newbies how absurd these games are and that there isn't really a limit.
Seems like the gun is strong like in 6 again. Although I wonder how strong it is without the buff.
Mig-31B Shadows. Seems like they will have a big variety of planes and we encounter them multiple times. So Ares isn't always a part of them (probably only 22nd unit. Will that one only be Su-57s?) Also a first taste of the Shadows them or at least one theme.
Correct me if I am wrong, but electronic warfare aircraft sounds pretty new to me. I wonder what it does.
Am I being stupid or does this not basically confirm that we will be able to give each team member separate planes?
So my plane knowledge isn't perfect, so excuse for just saying plane, but in the first picture we see Tasha having a different plane and I think Noise too, since he has a two seater. The second picture is an older one for comparison. There they all had the same plane, so you cannot say this is just the planes they always fly. You can see if you look closely that those are also our team members.
Honestly all things considered, for a game that is not a live service, the avarage player count is still pretty high, compared to some other games.
This considered why would Fromsoft even need to make more content (from their perspective)? Apart from never being a live service and just a side project, the game is very alive.
You know I always wondered, why is Batou casually admitting attempted murder? Or were Aramaki and Batou both pranking the Major together?
What are some anime that surprised you by how popular they got even though you thought they were pretty okay? (So writing and animations wise, I think we all get why well animated shows would still get popular)
To provide an example, which will or will not be controversial, I was pretty surprised by the popularity of Lycoris Recoil. Sure it had some cool action scenes, but the main plot thread was not really engaging (so little that I barely remember what the conflict was) and certainly nothing new and was pretty low stakes which seemed like an odd contrast to the action for me. The art style was not all that unique, almost a cliche of what you would an anime to look like, but the colour palette was nice. The characters were nice, but also nothing we hadn't seen before. And the most relevant thing, the Yuri always seemed pretty standard baity to me. It very much felt like an anime that you like because it was one of your first, if you know what I mean.
So I was pretty surprised when it got so popular especially in Yuri circles, I probably would have forgot it by now if not for that. Which seemed surprising to me since I thought it would get more critique for the baiting. Yet Euphonium got harsher critiques years ago, for what could be argued was never actual bait (If you want Yuri there watch Liz and the Blue Bird)
Another one. Recently I watched Yuri on Ice and I didn't really get it. The romance was okay in my eyes and the skating was really dissapointing with several animation errors. After having watched and read the Medalist I think my expectations were a bit too high.
This felt like one of those product of it's time things if I am being honest. Which honestly is probably the reason a lot of popular anime we grew up on got popular in the first place. Those were just some of the first we watched, so of course we gave them higher praises and may not have realized how cliche they were or how much higher the ceiling can get.
Anyways, anyone else have similar experiences?
I know many people would hate it and on every replay it would be easily countered or get annoying, but what if you had a situation where after you finished a certain mission your base gets attacked by missiles or whatever and your last plane (likely the one you liked the most and fly in every mission) gets destroyed and now you have to use one of your other planes.
You would of course get the plane back (or you could make more evil by needing to buy it back) in the next mission and free missions are never affected, I just thought it would be a sorta impactful moment when you experience it for the first time.
Might be too annoying though.
