I was diagnosed with basal cell, a very small bump on the top of my cheek under my right eye I had the derm look at and do a biopsy. I'm only 28 and try my best to wear sunscreen so I was very surprised when they said it was basal cell - infundibulocystic type.

It's a very small bump (0.5 cm), but under my eye so they recommended Mohs, which I have scheduled. The doctor recommended plastic surgery, which they initially told me I could get the same day so I agreed to it.

When trying to schedule with the plastic surgeon, they said I have to schedule for the next day and also seemed to say I'd have to be under anesthesia because it's on my face (while my derm's nurse had previously said it would be lidocaine).

This greatly complicates things because now I have to take another day off of work, figure out who's going to drive me, and since I live in the city, it's a super long commute to the suburbs for this procedure. Plus, they're making me get bloodwork and EKG monitoring from my primary care physician (I don't have one, and I never had to get this done when going under for a colonoscopy).

Does all this seem normal? I've had not experience with anything like this before and want to make sure this is standard procedure and not me getting the run-around to drive up my medical bills.

I use genie agents regularly for data science work at my job and I love it. Its integrations with the database makes things so much easier and really increases my efficiency.

However, in the past few weeks I have noticed that the speed and the intelligence of the genie agent has gotten much worse.

From a speed perspective, its slower and when I have multiple databricks windows open it tends to slow down my performance across all the tabs and take much longer to write, especially later in the day.

From an intelligence perspective I've noticed it making dumb errors and not-considering the context of the entire notebook when writing codes that unknowingly excluding things mentioned in earlier cells or calling a field not present in the current table. I've given a few tasks of adapting previous notebooks and making small changes and it's performance has been abysmal, when in the past I found it to handle those type of asks pretty flawlessly.

Is this all in my head or have I gotten throttled onto a lower model for genie? Or is this just a consequence of its increased use? I know it's the last free month of genie so that could play a role as well.

I've been bowling for nearly three years in an unsanctioned league at the same place (Fireside Bowl in Chicago). At first I was making rapid improvements, but over the past year I've definitely hit a wall. I've gotten a new ball, taken a lesson to improve my release, but my scores have not been improving and honestly I think they're getting worse.

The lanes are very dry and hook a ton, making it very hard to control the pocket. I am constantly adjusting but my ball hooks and Brooklyns more times than not, and as a two-hander, even a straight shot will cross over.

It's not a super serious league, but I notice that most bowlers there struggle to control the pocket as well, other than one-handers who basically drill it down the 15 boards. I also don't think anyone has ever gotten a 300 there in its entire history.

My ball does not have a lot of natural hook (storm tropical) but I am wondering if it makes sense to switch to a plastic ball to really kill the hook and help me actually hit the pocket? I'm driving myself crazy and losing interest in bowling since nothing I am doing seems to work.

Planning a birthday trip to Mexico with a friend I have done a bit of traveling with in the past. Looking for recommendations for interesting recommendations for cities/areas to visit.

I'm particularly into the food culture, art (especially pottery) and history of Mexico, and like to explore some nature on my trips as well (willing to take day trips outside of main city).

We have already been to CDMX, so I am looking for somewhere a bit more off the beaten path to visit, that wouldn't be too much of a hassle to get to from the US for a 5-day trip. Also, somewhere that has good weather in mid-November.

We are both late 20s American men, speak moderate Spanish and have traveled in Central and South America fairly extensively.

Puebla, Guadalajara, San Cristóbal de las Casas (or somewhere else in Chiapas), and Guanajuato have all caught my eye as options. I know Oaxaca is a popular second stop after CDMX but it seems a little played out and I am not a huge fan of mole, would rather go somewhere a little bit more unknown.
