Hi there, here to admit I'm traveling with my family from the U.S. to Hamilton in a few weeks to visit filming locations for a certain (cough) popular tv show.

Where is a good spot to stay that's safe, clean, and near great stuff to do? I have never been in the area. I have seen some Youtubers and bloggers caution against staying central/downtown. Are there safety issues? If so, specifically where? Just thinking primarily of traveling with kids, want our environment in and around our hotel to feel comfy and safe.

Any guidance from locals is much appreciated! I hope it's not weird to post this. I just really need advice. Want to come explore your city! I'm a historian so recs on museums and sites also welcome.

Genius or insane? I think it's kind of genius, as his charm has so many layers and he obviously could play a villain, that's no question in my mind.

As a Titanic person it was fun to see some crazy random crossover too.

I saw an excerpt of a fic in an Instagram ad for Threads. But I don't do Threads. It was Ilya telling Yuna that a surrogate situation would involve Shane's donation so that they would be Yuna and David's biological grandkids. And then Yuna of course embraces him and says it doesn't matter. It was well written and I need to read whatever fic this is. Help! Lolol

I am truly curious to see if any other longtime fans have had the experience my husband and I have.

Prior to Season 8 we were avid re-watchers, talked about the show often, hell we've even gone to Scotland to tour filming locations! But this last season was (in our opinion) so poorly written and executed that we've lost our passion. I hate it. Truly. I thought the show would be a part of my heart forever.

Main complaints?

-the Faith storyline was cheap retconning and it ruined the power and beauty of Season Two and also just didn't match the Jamie and Claire we have known...at all

-the show has been shot lately almost like a Hallmark movie, with polished costumes that look like they're from the Gap and the most awful wigs, poor lighting, cheap sets, you name it

-the writers just seem to have taken us all for granted and assumed we'd just come along for any old drivel

-half the storylines in Season 8 made literally no sense

Anyway, I don't want to have to ask this question. I'm hoping one day I'll want to return. But in the meantime--anyone else???

Okay this is one of those "I've rewatched it so many times I'm overthinking" but humor me...

In episode four the opening montage implies they hook up quite frequently during the active hockey season over a couple of years, whenever there are Boston/Montreal games. We see tons of Ilya at Shane's house. We see Ilya at his house with Svetlana and other friends, and it's definitely the same house we'll get tuna melt times in.

Why is the tuna melt sitch the first time Shane has seen his house?! Why haven't they been using it? Do they only hook up in Montreal? (Shane asks if he had it built, is wowed by the house making it seem heavily implied that it's his first time seeing it.)

What have I missed lol send help
