Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Support admits "no obvious impact point visible", still refuses warranty and asks for a €666 repair quote.
My Pixel 9 Pro Fold's inner display developed a crack along the folding line during normal opening/closing. The phone is in pristine condition: no drops, no frame dents, external screen fully intact.
Google Support sent me a €666.66 repair quote claiming "physical damage".
When contested, the support agent literally replied in writing:
"we cannot ignore these conclusions simply because no single and obvious point of impact is visible on the photograph."
They openly admit there is no visible impact point, yet refuse the 2-year mandatory EU statutory conformity warranty (Directive EU 2019/771) and shift the burden of proof onto the customer.
Case ID: 9-4912000041215. A complaint is being filed with the Belgian Economic Inspection (SPF Economie) and the European Consumer Centre (ECC).
Beware of foldable display warranty support.
