Question
I am on unsupervised probation due to a possession of marijuana charge less than 13 grams in an illegal state. I do not live in that state either. I was put into day report but ended up going into sober living so I did not have to report up until my court date and have to drive to another state 3 times a week. When my court date came all I was charged with was possession of marijuana. Other charges were dismissed do to police not following the law correctly and did an unwarranted search on my vehicle with me in the back seat of cruiser before the search and also unlocked things in the car without a warrant. At court I was placed on unsupervised probation and to just stay out of trouble for 6 months. They were having problems opening the email PDF from my sober living saying I was living there so as part of my conditions of probation it was giving proof that I was in sober living/ IOP. My court appointed attorney had somebody fill in for her on that day as she was taking care of another case at the time. I had asked my court appointed attorney that when they get the email proof that I was in sober living at the time (august) , that they would not need any more proof after that. The man filling in for my attorney said yes to me. Now when I try to call my actual court appointed attorney she says that I would need to stay in sober living / outpatient for the whole 6 months? I live in a state where weed is legal and have a clean record, never been arrested before this. I just want to here y'all opinion. My attorney did say when I called her that I could possible switch to an IOP and move out of the sober living. I'm having problems getting on Medicaid right now and don't have any insurance. Not too much guidance in my life either to talk about things like this with people but I am living comfortably compared to when I was homeless for years. Any info is appreciated as to if it is a known thing to have to live at a sober living while on unsupervised probation thanks or will the courts check in with me or send mail to my address about my living or IOP arrangements thanks
