Aliases or a permanent email address for job platforms?
I'm trying to decide when it's better to use email aliases and when it's better to use a permanent email address.
For job platforms
- Welcome to the Jungle
- Wellfound
- Built In
- Hiring Cafe
would you use:
- a permanent email address (for example
name@mydomain.dev), or - a unique alias for each service?
I'm mainly thinking about privacy versus long-term reliability. If recruiters contact me months or even years later, I don't want to miss those emails, but I also like the privacy benefits of aliases.
How do you handle this?
Why does ProtonVPN Smart protocol always choose Stealth for me?
Hi everyone,
I recently subscribed to Proton Unlimited and started using ProtonVPN.
I noticed that both on my home Wi-Fi and on my Vodafone mobile network in the Czech Republic, the Smart protocol always selects Stealth.
However, if I manually switch to WireGuard, it connects without any issues on both networks.
So I’m wondering:
Why does Smart keep choosing Stealth instead of WireGuard?
Is there any benefit to using Stealth in my situation?
Or should I simply set WireGuard manually if it works reliably?
I’d appreciate any explanation of how Smart decides which protocol to use.
Thanks!
How do you organize your personal email in Proton Mail?
Iʼm trying to set up my email in Proton Mail for personal use.
I’m not sure what is better:
use folders for different types of emails, or
use labels/tags instead
How do you do it?
Do you organize by folders, by labels, or both?
I want something simple that works long term and is not too complicated.
Would be great to hear how you set it up in real life.
Porkbun account: Real Proton email or alias?
Hi everyone,
I want to create a new account on Porkbun to buy some domains.
Is it better to use my real Proton Mail address or a Hide-My-Email alias as registration email?
What do you think is better for security? Thanks for your help!
