Major change for my old 516. Hit the Lancer hand guard and LPVO with Aluma Hyde Coyote. Didn’t paint the receiver there was just a weird lighting shift between the photos. Before photo is missing an ejection port cover because it was being painted.

Had to mount my LPVO weirdly far back because the gas block gets insanely hot and sits level with the rail unlike most rifles. Thinking about a flashlight to finish her off but I mostly reach out with this setup so it’s not a necessity.

Technically not just a male living space but my gf let me take the lead on setting things up. Our little dining room needs some work but I’ll get to that eventually.

Finished setting up my SIG 516 for distance. The LPVO is a nasty Monstrum Beast 1-6x. I’m going to get roasted for that but I’ve never used an LPVO so I wanted to try something cheap first. The glass quality and eye relief are surprisingly good for a $180 optic. I’ll buy something better when this thing takes a shit on me.

I will say, one thing has always bothered me about the 516 is the gas block protrudes right where my hand naturally wants to rest. With the Lancer hand guard I can grip in front of it but it makes mounting a flashlight awkward hence setting this up for longer shots. I think I’m going to just buy a BCM upper and set that up for 0-300 rather than working around the 516 gas block.
