The robot voice saying "this checkout is card only" has the exact rhythm of "this speech is my recital" (the first line of It's Tricky)

Since I noticed it, I can't not notice it, so now you all have to notice it too

This checkout is card only

My day is going slowly

I noticed it, my brain won't quit

For love of all that's holy

Are there any websites specifically for wedding guests to upload their photos and put them all in one online gallery?

As per the title - a friend of mine is getting married and not having a photographer (yes I've tried my best to convince her it's the one thing not to skimp on)

Is there a website where all guests can individually upload whatever photos they took on the day, and ideally it would be easy to put them into order so the whole gallery has pics in order from the start to finish of the day

What are some invasive flowers that I can pick guilt-free to have fresh flowers in the house?

As above, I'd like to pick fresh flowers to have around the house, but only want to target invasive plants that don't belong in our parks and verges

England- event organisers ripped off vendors for "county's largest festival" which was more like a village fete

This weekend a friend asked me to help out on their stall at a "festival" which claimed to be the biggest food and music festival in the county, with street food, a farmers market, interactive kid zone, interactive dog zone, pop up art gallery, wellbeing area, yadda yadda.

Social media posts from a couple of days before the event showed things like a ferris wheel and helter-skelter, and what we thought was a previous year's festival with loads of stands and a huge crowd, on closer inspection the images are all AI with the odd stock image thrown in.

The reality was a badly organised shambles in a small field, seemingly only put on so the "organiser" could get pissed up and put his own band on as the headliner for both days. It was like fyre fest if no one had gone to fyre fest.

Vendors were told to pitch up next to the last person who got there, so there were no clearly defined areas, and nothing like what was being advertised- no interactive kid zone (unless you count a single face painter) no pop up art gallery, the "wellbeing zone" was a masseuse and a yoga instructor who clearly expected to be part of a much bigger area as they pitched up at the far end of the field expecting the festival to fill out towards them (it didn't)

A lady who does permanent jewellery needed (and had paid for) and electric hook up, was put in a place where they couldn't give her the electric she'd paid for.

On day one, maybe 100 people turned up throughout the entire day. It was supposed to go on until 10pm but by 6pm most vendors up and left as the only attendees were other vendors and their families. Most food vendors only sold 2 or 3 meals in the whole day. Day 2, maybe 2-300 attendees, still very poor sales. Attendees were charged £20/adult and £10/child so when they walked in and saw what they'd paid for, they weren't interested in spending any more money.

Vendors were charged different amounts that the "organiser" had pulled out of his arse, ranging from £200-1000 on the expectation that the event would have the 5000+ visitors stated in the traders info pack. The claim of it being the county's largest food and music festival is made repeatedly on the socials.

The info pack said something about targeted advertising to 500,000 social media followers (the Fest actually has 3000 on insta and 2300 on fb).

There were a couple of things stated in the Ts&Cs that didn't transpire:

"[The Fest] will plan the layout of the event carefully in advance to try to satisfy the requirements of members of the public and Exhibitors alike." (Didn't happen).

"Details and map to be provided prior to the event" (there was no map, vendors list, schedule ect).

T&Cs also mention vendors badges and parking passes which didn't exist but that was inconsequential.

It says people who are drunk or under the influence of drugs will be ejected immediately (the "organiser" was pissed up and another vendor says they saw him smoking a joint when he ran off to hide in the woods and they followed him).

They did put in the T&Cs "The stallholder accepts and agrees that [The Fest] will not be held liable for its volume of trade at the event."

Is that alone enough to cover their arses, or would it be worth pursuing in small claims if they don't refund the pitch fee since vendors were massively oversold on the scale and standard of event they were paying to be at?

The comradery when there's an accident that closes the whole motorway and everyone is stuck there for a couple of hours

Engine off, step out and stretch your legs on the verge. Everyone's having a nice chat, checking on the families with kids, making sure dogs have water etc, no one complaining because we know the emergency services are doing everything they can to save lives and they'll open up a lane as soon as they can.

Next time a guy starts telling you about how he lives on chicken and broccoli, just tell him "oh you mean the pink diet? I thought that was just for women but it's great that you're in touch with your feminine side"
