I was a Muslim, but I became irreligious.
I felt compelled to leave the faith because Islam was confusing me greatly; I didn't know who or what to believe. Everyone described Islam differently for instance, some claimed the Quran doesn't mandate ritual prayer, while another group insisted that performing the five daily prayers is absolutely required. In any case, I wasn't living according to Islamic practice; I didn't perform the five daily prayers or even a single one simply because I had no desire to do so. I’m open to reading the Quran, but I don't want to perform the prayers, which is why I left the religion. Christianity is somewhat similar to Islam, so I have no interest in it either; in short, I have no interest in any religion, yet I want to have my brain "washed" into believing in something so that I can feel good about myself.
