I know some basic counter units but because of all of the civs I’m having to click on a given unit (especially ones made from a castle) to know what counters it.

Basic ones I know are:

Skirm beats archer
Archer beats spearmen / militia
Scouts beat Skirmisher

Season 2 of the Low Elo Legends League will have an FFA Exploding Kings format with a twist —- randomized bounties on Kings.

Here are some questions— looking for feedback:

1. Should there be Elo limits since it’s FFA and higher elo kings can be easily sniped

2. What do you think of this point-based formatting?
-3 points for Last Standing player (1st place)
-2 points for 2nd place
-1 point for 3rd place
-1 point per king snipe (intentionally deleting your own king to kill another players king would either 0 or 0.5 points)

3. Which maps would be most fun? Thinking of changing it biweekly

4. 10 matches maximum per player.
-idea here is to reward those that remain active. Eg. Shoveler plays 6 matches within the 12-week period with a point total of 19. Russoft plays 10 matches and ends the 12-week period with a total of 23 points. Hence, Russoft is rewarded for playing out his 10 game limit.

5. How many players should be allowed to register/participate? Should there be a limit?
   -We’ve had scheduling issues with players remaining active in Season 1 as it was a 2v2 tournament where 12 countries were represented. I’d say around 25% either dropped out entirely (didn’t respond to DMs after committing to S1 of LELL) or had real-life situations come up that they needed to attend to (new job, getting married, moving, etc). It’s completely fine as adulting must take priority over aoe2 —- but I think having a lot of people register could be good and bad — wanted to get your guys take on it.

6. Bounty hunting — based on a randomized system… specific king bounties would be put on the heads of random players on any given match — the player that defeats that king would get an additional 1 point for the snipe.

Ideas:

Ex 1. Color bounty (teal is chosen in an 8 player FFA)
Ex 2. Highest Elo in game
Ex. 3 A-Z …alphabetically sniping the king of a player whose name starts with a specific letter of the alphabet
Ex. 4 In game score bounty … highest score at a given time mark in game would initiate a bounty on that player.
Ex. 5 Bounty window … 1 player is given a 10 minute window to snipe a king… that player’s snipes would double in points IF he/she is able to snipe an enemy king.

Overall goal: mix it up to have some fun and create bounty system to have higher stakes during matches.. no it’s not “fair” but it will be fun

7. Playoffs format 1v7
-Top 4 players face off in separate 1v7 matches … the one who lasts the longest, wins the tournament. Their king cannot be defeated by intentionally deleting one of the team of 7’s kings.

Hey Reddit fam, does anyone know a current build order for Steppe Lancer FC on the map Steppe?

I keep getting absolutely destroyed on this map in Low Elo Legends League — many times by scout civs like Franks, Khitans, Poles, Magyars etc.

I’d like to learn how to FC into Steppe Lancers —- Google tells me to use one of the following civs:

1. Mongols
2. Cumans
3. Tatars

Pls help 😅😅😅 — I’m a 950-1.1K elo … it’s a 2v2 league and I keep letting my teammate down on this map

Total players: 16-32 (depending on # of registrants)

Point System (per game):

1st - 3 points
2nd - 2 points
3rd - 1 point

King snipe - 1 point each

Points will accumulate over the duration of the Low Elo Legends League: Season 2.

Who has suggestions about which civ comps are best for all-in Strats on the following maps:

1. Steppe 🐑
2. Pilgrims 🛶
3. Black Forest 🌳

Would like to win a game with my teammate if possible… cheesy Strats / Phosphoru and Hoang build orders encouraged

We’ve tried the Gurjaras/Spanish all in on Arena and that’s worked well… need more BOs though 😅😅😅

Aoe2 servers are down… got me to thinking. Would I still play aoe2 if multiplayer was removed permanently. Hbu?

I keep trying diff civs and keep getting clapped. I like the Spanish bcuz I can go Conqs FC. However, I’d like to try some more fun, all-in strats that are fun.

Which 3-5 civs should I focus on and which Strats to use?

Map pool: Steppe, Hideout, Arena, BF, Hyper Random Nomad, Mega Random, Pilgrims

**Typically I ban BF/Arena.

Civs I enjoy: Persians, Spanish

Which hot key layout is your go to for aoe2? Could use some help if you don’t mind 😅😅

The only real hot keys I’ve been using are ~ to select all TCs so I can keep up with vill production… but I can never remember hot keys to select all military buildings and so forth.

Also, I’ve noticed that some people, when being attacked, press a button and it auto takes them to that area to defend it… unsure how to do this as well.

Same with sheep at start for scouting… like how?

I enjoy rushing but I can’t figure out how to do it on Arena in Dark Age/Feudal Age.

I’ve seen clips of people sending a vill to opp base and lumber jacking a tree and then palisade deleting it and getting in that way. Is this possible?

Also, any other ideas…?
