Think I may have botched my injection

As per the title - I think I may have screwed up my jab today 😭

I went to inject myself in my abdomen as I always do. I still have a good amount of fat and a lot of loose skin, so usually I kind of pinch a bit before injecting, just to give the needle something firmer to inject into. For some reason (no idea what I was thinking) I didn’t do that today and just kind of jabbed straight into my stomach. Because it didn't come up against any resistance, the pen kind of pushed my belly so it folded in a bit (apologies for the description but I’m sure many of you get what I mean)! I injected as usual but when I went to remove the pen I realised the needle had barely broken the surface and the pen wasn’t anywhere near flush with my skin. The liquid seems to have all gone in (there was a little residue on the skin but that’s normal for me), but I’m worried it hasn’t gone deep enough and it won’t be effective this week.

I’ve been doing this for almost two years and I’m so annoyed with myself! It would bloody happen after I’ve had a few of weeks of slacking and gained 4lbs too - I was really determined to get back on track this week 🤦‍♀️

Has anyone done something similar? How did you find the effectiveness that week? I would love some reassurance (I’m autistic and a huge overthinker) but even an honest ”yeah you screwed up” would kind of help. I’m just spiralling a bit at the moment.

Opinions on card stock choices from Make Playing Cards?

Hi everyone.

I have some money from my birthday and would like to buy a new RWS deck. I’m pretty set on Conrad Steyn’s 1909 Roses & Lilies from MPC, but I’m torn on which version to get.

Ideally, I would really like the boxed version. I’m not particularly a fan of having cards loose in a bag, or even kept loose in a wooden box for example. The magnetic book box that’s available with the R&L deck looks great.

The only thing giving me pause is the card stock. The boxed version comes with the regular cards (S30 standard smooth) and I’ve heard a few people say they’re unimpressed with how thin and flimsy they are. I’m in the UK so this deck is quite pricey once shipping is factored in, and I really don’t want to end up disappointed in the quality! The deck is also available in the thicker card stock (A35 Thick Standard), which appeals to me more, BUT this version is just shrink-wrapped, no box.

I’m honestly torn. Does anyone have experience with this deck in either of these card stock options? I would love to hear your thoughts to help me make my decision!

Thanks 🙏

Feminine forest fragrances

I had some amazing suggestions on my last post asking for rose scents, so I’m hoping you can all help me with another request! 🌳🌲

I would absolutely love a foresty fragrance, but I’m specifically looking for one that doesn’t lean too masculine, dry, or “fresh” (for want of a better word). I get the feeling that a lot of scents in this profile are very unisex and have a zingy, bracing quality that’s not really what I’m after. I think it’s the heavy pine/conifer notes that are a bit much for me…I do like them, but I don’t want them to be too prominent. I’m looking for something that’s woody, mossy, and earthy, but with some kind of sweetness or warmth to add a bit of depth and femininity to it. Maybe some incense, spice, florals, smoke, even fruit or vanilla or something I honestly don’t know!

I’m an elder millennial and my vibe is kind of witchy, cozy gothic, “soft alt”.

I’m pretty new to perfume so please feel free to recommend something”obvious” as there’s a good chance I won’t have tried it! However I am in the UK so sadly a lot of brands like Alkemia, BPAL, Solstice Scents, Pineward, etc aren’t accessible to me 😞

Thank you all in advance, I can’t wait to hear your recommendations 🙏❤️

Rose recommendations for spring & summer?

Hi everyone 🙂

I’m looking for some rose fragrances for daytime spring and summer wear 🌹 I love Tom Ford Noir de Noir, Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady, and Beaufort Acrasia, but they all feel more appropriate for evenings or autumn/winter so I’m looking for something a bit lighter or more “everyday”.

I like incense, tea, patchouli, herbs, mossy notes, woods etc, but I’m not keen on violet, iris, tuberose, or frangipane, and I don’t want anything too powdery, vintage, animalic, or fruity. I’m an elder millennial and my vibe is kind of witchy geek, cosy grunge, casual gothic, and what the kids are apparently calling “soft alt”, if that helps.

I am pretty new to perfume and haven’t tried that much, so please don’t hesitate to suggest “obvious” choices as there’s a good chance I’m not familiar with them! However, I am in the UK so unfortunately a lot of brands like BPAL, Alkemia, Solstice Scents etc aren’t accessible to me.

Would love to hear your recommendations! Thank you 🙏
