Commuting Options Pros/Cons?

I’m moving to the Crawford Skokie/Lincolnwood border, and I’m wondering what options people in this area do as Loop commuters.

Currently I live in the city and drive to the Loop because the nearest train is a 30-minute walk with no parking.

If I’m not going to drive on the Kennedy every day, what are the pros and cons of taking the Yellow Line versus the Metra from Edgebrook?

Should I Be Concerned?

I had an offer accepted May 19 with an executed state real estate contract. The inspection went well, and though there were some electrical issues, I didn’t request credits. The buyer was adamant that she wanted a 30-day closing period and 30-day post-closing possession. Our on-paper closing is June 19.

May 28-29: attorney review. Agreements are reached verbally and my attorney says he’ll send a response.

It took my lawyer until June 4 to send that amendment. I also reminded him that the closing date we agreed upon, June 19, is a bank holiday. He sent off a note asking the seller’s attorney to choose a new closing date and sign off.

It’s now June 8, we have about 7 business days until closing, and we have not heard anything back from the sellers attorney despite two follow-up emails.

Technically, we are still in attorney review because of the slight amendment made, but I paid my second earnest money deposit with no protest from the seller’s attorney. Is it normal to be running so close to the original closing date with no movement?

TLDR: running up to closing with slow attorneys still in review. My attorney doesn’t seem concerned. Should I be worried?
