Am I reaching too far?

Honest thoughts please; I'm 45, I haven't been working since about 2014 - we immigrated here from Canada in '14 and I wasn't allowed to work under my husband's visa - my career back home was phlebotomist. Now that we have our green card and I'm able to work, I really want to do something meaningful, and radiation therapist sounds about right. The thing is, I don't have a degree. My phlebotomy was only a certificate. Where I'm currently located, they only offer a B.A. for rad therapy and because of the admission points system they have, already having an associate degree would very much help me get in (among other requirements on this same list) I haven't done any math or science since high school, so it seems as though I'd need to catch up in order to even take any sort of college math. The closest pre req I have is anatomy and physiology and even then, both of those were taken over 20 yrs ago. I know theoretically "anyone can do anything," but honestly am I kidding myself here? Even typing this, I'm feeling like this could be me biting off more than I can chew 😐

Informal Japanese?

Is it just me or is informal Japanese insanely hard?? My main ways of learning Japanese in general have been Duolingo and various other app like Lingo Deer, and the Japanese From Zero book series. I'm on the second of those books and the last few sections have been teaching informal Japanese. I have read and reread, made flash cards, used Google.ai (as much as I didn't want to) and I still do not get how to use this part of the language. I don't have any Japanese friends atm so this isn't crucial, but it bothers me that I'm not understanding any of it. Am I missing something?? I can't even really explain what I don't understand lol it just doesn't seem to follow any sort of pattern. Maybe I just need a diff resource for this part. What has helped you all?

Math classes for Rad Therapist

I am looking into NWHSU to take the distance ed rad therapy course (I'm in CA). They have recommended classes to take but they're not a prereq. Pre Calculus in one of them and if I'm being honest, I'm 45 and have been out of school for 25 years and when I was in school I sucked at math big time. I do however want to put in a solid effort for this, so my question is what is the path toward precalc? Basically I don't want to waste time on classes I don't need nd I'm a bit confused at where to begin, but at this point my level of algebra is 0. I'm worried I won't be able to do this, but why not try lol. Were any of you in the same position I am? I'd appreciate the encouragement! Thanks!

Is it even working??

So I've been on Lexapro for roughly 7/8 months. I started with 5mg and I'm now at 10 and have been since April, I made sure I waited the full 2 or so months before titrating up. I started taking it because of my anxiety, like I worry constantly, ruminate, I'm nervous all the time - the usual. I'm thinking of upping it to 20mg but as it stands now, I don't really feel much different. My anxiety and ruminating are still pretty much the same, and actually a bit worse lately. I'm a bit more meh about things but that's the only change I've really seen. My husband who's on Prozac has noticed the same. I guess my question is I wasn't a super depressed etc person before lex so maybe my "up" isn't as up as other people's? Like my husband (and I) noticed a major difference when he started Prozac. It was night and day, and if I'm being honest I envied that and it was part of the reason I went on lex. I just wanted to feel as good as he did. I'm not in therapy and not too interested in it at this point (yes I know...) I don't really know what to do. Up to 20 or change meds completely. Anyone else have this experience? Thanks

Lily video calls not working?

Does anyone have any issues with the video calls not picking up exactly what you said? Just now I said a whole line about how long I studied Japanese for today and all it recorded (in the end of convo summary) was "desu" and it's like oh expand your sentence. Like really?? I realize this app isn't without bugs, but c'mon lol
