Lost Malnourished Dog on Springwood Road

Saw what we believe to be a white ute with a trailer dump two malnourished dogs near ~420 Springwood Rd just before 9pm and speed off into the night.

With the help of some passers by we were able to rescue the puppy but, after narrowly missing getting hit by passing cars, the mother ran into the bush behind Springwood Reservoir. She clearly has been abused and is very wary of people, I’d avoid trying to grab her as she may bite.

The ranger was useless and unwilling to come out and assist.

The puppy has been taken to Animal Emergency Service on Lexington Rd, Underwood.

If anyone sees the mother, or happens to secure her please reach out or take her to the same medical centre.
Likewise if anyone knows the asshole who dumped them, we’d like a word.
And please be safe when driving in the area.

(Pictures have been attached of the puppy)

Update:
Both pups have been united at the same hospital and are sharing a fluffy lil bed in the same page. Thanks for the help Reddit. If anyone is looking to adopt please reach out

Caller ID for incoming calls displaying the wrong number

I’m using an iPhone on the latest iOS and in the last fortnight have revived a number of calls with the wrong ID. Such as a call from my work showing up as a mate’s number, or an incoming call from the automatic gate system where I live which is Rx only.

Any idea what’s going on? Is this a known issue? Are telemarketers tracking recent calls and are spoofing those numbers when calling?

HUD phone usage

I imagine I already know the answer, but what are the laws/what is actually enforced when it comes to touching handlebar mounted phones being used for nav and music?

I definitely don’t make a habit of touching my phone while riding (the less distractions the better), but I’d be lying if I said I’d never been in a situation, particularly in tunnels where connection drops, where I haven’t had to swipe my phones screen to get a better picture of the upcoming turn off, etc.

Also, it seems like every second delivery rider is staring at and touching their phone but I’m yet to see one actually pulled over by the cops. Is it just something that is tolerated by law enforcement?
