Hierotek Circle fans, convince me not to kitbash this Deathmark

I'm planning on running the Royal Warden as my Despotek, and felt like making an über Deathmark.

Originally, I was going to use the Royal Warden base on making a Technomancer, but the OOP Overlord I was going to kitbash it with won't arrive until next month.

How many Deathmarks do you take? How badly do they perform? Is it worth using my upgrade sprue bits on a Deathmark, as well as a bisected Royal Warden?

Does anyone actually enjoy edge highlighting?

Also, is a size 00 small enough to do the details?

All is Dust

The newest induction in my grey pile of shame.

On the eve of the hour

One last piece to go. Changing to the second roll of filament set us back terribly - 3 consecutive failures on the crossguard. Somehow, the first was a miracle roll of PLA that didn't need adhesion, brims, or adjustments to the build plate. The second suffered clogs and warping, and ultimately adding a brim to all future prints.

As you might observe, we've begun partially filling and sanding. Impatience and hubris has tainted the lovely pearlescent finish of the PLA, but hopefully it'll all be worth it in the end.

Structurally, it remains sound, despite the 7/8" dowel somehow being too small. 5 wall layers and 15% infill may have been overkill, but I personally think there's no such thing.

Practically speaking, this particular design is surprisingly deceptive and brutal. The guthook, swordbreakers, and hooked tip provide a lot of utility, and the weight of it makes it more of an executioner blade married to a warpick than a duellist's sword. The Huskblade wasn't really my favorite weapon on an Archon, but waving this thing around has really given me a greater appreciation for it.

The stylized grip may make people think it doesn't lend itself to two-handing, but it actually feels quite good - and better leverages the crushing weight of the blade. It really is quite forward heavy. I foresee resting it on a shoulder quite often.

8/14ths of the way there

Longsword trainer for scale. The dowel is still too thick, so we're downsizing rather than mess with the print itself at this point. Also too much weight for the magnet, it's being scrapped entirely.

3 steps forward, 4 steps back

Found out after 3 prints that the internal rod is misaligned. We'll have to start from scratch, but the proof of concept is there - the filament is gorgeous, and the parts are solid. Testing for the ring magnet attaching to a belt begins tomorrow.
