How can I tell if it is an ATS Rejection?

Got a unique rejection email for a job I obviously qualify for (Niche specialization, no german needed, remote, have my zeugnis from previous employer).

>Given the large number of applications we received, it was not easy for us to make a selection. Unfortunately, we decided to continue the application process with other candidates who fulfill the criteria of our requirements profile to an even greater extent. We immensely appreciate your experience. Nonetheless, since we put together our teams in a very targeted manner and want to combine as many different skills as possible, we also pay attention to individual details in order to find the right candidate for a long-term collaboration. That is why it is often only the details that make the difference when filling a position.

>For now, all that remains for me to do is to wish you all the best and much success in your future career. And who knows, maybe our paths will cross again at some other point.

I have been getting rejected non-stop exactly 1 week after applying.. exactly at 9am. Despite applying exactly within an hour of it being up on linkedin.

Which makes me wonder am I being auto rejected by ATS?

What is up with job postings that have been up for months?

There are so many job postings that I applied to months ago and got rejected from, and are still up. Are they actually hiring anyone for these roles or are they looking for a unicorn? What's the deal with this?

Some roles have been up since January 2026.

These are literally from companies that are well known. IE. Payback Group, Scalable Capital, etc.

9 years of living here, I feel like I am cursed and I am out of options.

I usually do not vent out my private issues to anyone but close friends, but I feel that I already past my breaking point - I have lost any hope to recover and fully accepting the end is near.

I came to Germany back in 2017 to study my bachelors in CS, before that I did my B2 at Goethe in my country. If anyone asks me why did I choose Germany? I usually tell them that my best friend was a German (dual citizenship) and his parents had recommended me to learn German and apply to Germany, while they were also helping me pick up the words, but it wasn't like full on practice. The truth is, I had to escape domestic abuse at home, alcoholism, physical assaults - from your own blood, while your parents would do nothing. Being the youngest, I had to be the "model child" and take care of my aging parents while also studying.

My bachelors in CS was completely in English, you will know which university this is, since it is the only pure CS course in English, out of 2 other bachelor CS programs in English (the other being private, and the other being Computer Engineering). Of course here the issue starts. While the program was very welcoming, I had to witness the power tripping professor who would purposely fail students just because he didn't like them (half of our class got exmatrikulated by failing his exam 3 times, half of the remaining class including me were able to challenge the dean, and when we suggested we might take legal action as our visas were on the line, they changed the professor and we were able to pass these exams). This took a mental toll on me, constant fear that failing my basic courses would prevent me from studying another CS degree in Germany. After passing these exams, I witnessed regular panic attacks, even after seeing my grades that I passed, I felt something was wrong. I got myself checked into a neurologist who did numerous studies on my brain and diagnosed me with ADHD combined, Depression and Anxiety. I was put on Medikinet and Escitalopram (which did more harm to me).

I feel like the covid lockdown took important years away from my life (25 and 26), it made my depression even worse, while medikinet helped my ADHD, I was always a thread breaking away from a breakdown. But I stopped my antidepressants when my panic attacks stopped and all was good. The KFW offered financial support to international students at the time, because companies were not hiring and it was hard to get by: I had to take it to survive - I regret it now but I had to.

My visits to the Ausländerbehörde were always chill as I always had a working student job and spoke in German with them. But you can imagine, being in IT, studying in English - I never got to practice German apart from the few phrases I needed to get by daily and appointments where I'd practice what I need to say in my head. It has been extremely hard to make German friends who are willing to speak in German to you, the moment you make a mistake they will switch to English - and seeing it from their perspective, they want to practice their English.

I graduated in 2023, but my hochschule delayed exmatriculating me and giving me my certificates, that the ABH didn't give me my Blue card 2 months later, with a job offer I got while writing my thesis. The two months I was between being a student - full time worker, I was broke and ended up collecting so much debt, asking friends for loans etc. My contract was limited for 2 years. The 2 years I worked, I was able to pay of most of it and had to still had to support my parents, sending them 300 euros every month, if I did not, they would guilt trip me, or say "at least send 100, or at least send 50" - And then the abuser would get ammunition to say that I am not doing enough. In the end I was never able to have any savings.

In 2025, I had to send more money as my dad fell even more ill and then passed away at the end of the year, I was not able to attend his funeral as I did not have any money on me. A month later my mother showed severe signs of dementia and since I could not leave her alone with my abuser, I felt it was best to send my abuser to rehab, and keep my mother in a senior home (had to pay for a special bed, medication, tests, etc - Doctors told us that her body shows signs of abuse and she cannot remember how did she get so many injuries and fractures). Finally in December I was informed my contract is ending and it would not be renewed due to budget cuts/hiring freezes.

In 2026 My panic attacks started again, I am unable to remember things after my panic attack, like memory loss, I only have faint flashes of what I was doing during the attacks. I was already applying for jobs after the christmas vacations and while I got rejected from the 1st two places, the 3rd company I applied to, went through all 3 interviews with me, said we have a good feeling and will send you a contract for the draft (I would have to move to Berlin, and I was fully ready to). A week later I get a call from HR saying everyone is sick (I believe this, I was sick as well) and they will get back to me as soon as everyones back in the office. A week passes and I get hit with the "Oh we found another candidate, it was so close between you and him, maybe if we plan on expanding the team we will contact you in 6 months" - Yeah no, some how the job appeared again in May and I called them, but then suddenly all the jobs were removed (and in July they came back but not the position I applied for). Since then I have been getting rejected from everywhere, My ALG is not enough as my bills are too damn high (I will ask for deferral from the KFW loan, I will cancel my gym and Deutschland ticket, I will try to lower my phone bill). Suddenly I get hit with a NK Abrechnung that is too damn high because the new neighbors absolutely refuse to sort out the trash correctly (the trash part of the bill is enormously high).

And just a few days ago I got a letter from the ABH saying that it's been 6 months since I'm jobless, and I have 1 month to produce a valid job contract to them or I must switch to the Chancenkarte. I have no idea what to do anymore, as getting a minijob will kill my ALG, I can't move to a WG because I have no money for a deposit, My current apartment has things I need to take care off before leaving / finding a Nachmieter (my apartment contract cannot be broken until next February). I can't give find a flatmate because I don't want to screw someone (if I get a job and have to leave).

Here's the catch: I cannot return home, I have no home to return to. My lifestyle, ideas, and the culture I follow is of Germany, I ran away from home to escape abuse and I still had to deal with it when I was here. I am completely hopeless but I feel at ease knowing it will be over soon.

Just so you know: Pakistani (Catholic, we are discriminated a lot back there), and I was so close to getting my PR / applying for citizenship here. I am constantly applying for Android development/engineering, or Mobile app dev (KMP) - but I am tired of these job postings just to get rejected or ghosted, I don't know who are these guys looking for.

I just needed to write this down and get things off my chest. I don't feel any better and I know there'll be some smartasses in the comments "Learn German".

Edit: Since losing my job, I have not sent any money home anymore. Yes I do have friends, a lot of expats, some German friends I talk to regularly. Very few friends from my own country, they're PhDs, worked at Continental before it broke apart. (Most Pakistani students that I met during my studies were quite cold towards me when they saw me drinking beer and partying during university, I had to face discrimination from them as well, felt treated like an outcast)

Due to stagnation in the economy, our revenues have been low. We are making necessary changes to stay competitive in the market.

  • proceeds to lay off half of the staff and force the remaining to use Claude

We laid off our staff by budget reductions but our expenses are still high? How could this happen?!

  • proceeds to fraud stakeholders by making fake job postings looking for seniors / staff engineers, knowing the role will never be filled.

  • proceeds to ghost you after you submit your application

Why can't we find skilled labor?! Let's import more people from India via the Chancenkarte and screw them as well.

  • proceeds to demand German C1 for roles that were doing completely fine with English, and wonder why they can't find anyone?

Which is funny because even native Germans are not getting hired, then they wonder why are young Germans leaving Germany.

What are some other nonsensical stuff that companies say that you're really tired of? It seems that companies here are only competing amongst each other who can drive themselves into a grave first.

I am tired of seeing posts that say "x Developer" and then the position requires 5+ years of experience - Like dude at least put Senior in the name so I don't get my hopes up.

Writers should have made Patty do it

If Patty was successful at doing it, this would indicate to us as the audience that we are finally in the end game, and it is too much for some characters to deal with.

We already know that not everyone is going to make it out.

Maybe I am wrong of this opinion?

Question: Does anyone remember if the van scene was a continuous shot? If so then this would be 110% epic.

Colony House quality of weed?

I was wondering, at some point someone bought weed / seeds (I read somewhere it was Fatima). So they grew it with whatever they could, I guess there is lack of fertilizer so not much nutrients for the plants.

My guess is that the weed they smoke is really bad quality and full of seeds. I was just wondering about Julie taking a hit and thought that might be the weakest bud ever.

Best supplements to fix your gut biome are foods

I know this is a supplement sub and I have tried a lot of supplements trying to fix things A to Z. The supplements I tried for my gut often worked great at first and over time it feels like I either grew tolerance or it got oxidized and stopped working.

Since COVID, I started abusing alcohol after a breakup and naturally this took a toll on my gut, along with taking antidepressants and ADHD medication. I was afraid of leaky gut syndrome and wanted to fix things so I started with supplements first, but figured supplements cost money and it might just be cheaper to eat food that's healthy.

So this year I started eating healthier and really did manage to change my gut fauna through diet. I am actually happy with how my poop looks like and how easy it is on my bowels.

Let's start with Prebiotics: Onions, Garlic, Apples, Banana, Oats, Cocoa, Leeks and Asparagus

It's easier to mix them with probiotics, such as: Chia seeds, Yogurt (Greek is the best), Kimchi, Sauerkraut, Kefir, Pickles or other fermented veggies.

It's easier if you make a quick salad:
Yogurt, Onions, Garlic, with Tomatoes and Cucumbers (and some spices).

If you make Kimchi (this by far as been the best way to fix my gut, but I've had a sleepless night because I was farting in bed all the time while my gut was getting used to it). I recommend 1-2-3 Kimchi with Taeyeon, She's a kimchi expert and makes kimchi with everything.

For breakfast you could do something like Oats, Milk(or Almond Milk) with 85% Cocoa and a sweetner like honey or dates.

The point of this post is lately I've been seeing a lot of threads asking for advice on supplements for fixing a gut. So this is just my experience that most supplements I tried either worked or didn't, the ones that did stopped working over time. But one supplement I am still taking everyday is Milk Thistle, it's not a gut supplement but it does help produce more bile.

Edit: Kimchi being the best way to fix your gut, you can't just go and buy Kimchi from the store, its pasteurized so most of the bacteria is dead. It's better to make your own and eat it as a side (Any kind of heat is at risk of killing the bacteria).
