Does nicotine make you lose weight or its a myth?

So i was sitting here trying to plan a new diet and got curious, does nicotine make you lose weight or is that just a myth people online keep repeating?

Long story short ive gained like 15 lbs since taking an office job last year. sitting down 8 hours a day also stress snacking at my desk has ruined my progress and none of my favorite pants fit right now. my gym buddy who vapes told me yesterday that he uses it whenever he gets late night food cravings cause it kills his appetite completely (btw i bought a $70 tub of protein powder last week thinking it would keep me full, but it tastes so bad i literally gag every time i drink it.. anyway back to my point lol)

Im not a smoker so im pretty hesitant, but im trying to learn does nicotine make you lose weight by actually burning calories or if it just stops you from eating when youre bored

If anyone tried zyn or vaping while trying to get lean, does nicotine make you lose weight in a real way or is it a waste of time?

How much do plumbers make in california realistically?

Heyyyy everyone, so ive been working as journeyman plumber in ohio for about 4 years now, but my girlfriend recently got a job offer in the bay area and were seriously considering moving. im trying to figure out how much do plumbers make in california because the cost of living out there looks completely insane compared to the midwest lol

My rent right now is like really cheap, so even though i dont make really high hourly pay here, life is pretty comfortable. but looking at zillow prices in ca is giving me heart attacks...

Anyway heres basically what im trying to figure out:

-Are union rates actually high enough out there to offset the crazy housing costs?
-What about non union or service techs doing commercial?
-Is it hard to get licensed if coming from another state?

I keep seeing wild figures online ranging everywhere from 60k to like 180k per year, so its confusing to get a clear picture of how much do plumbers make in california on average… like are those higher numbers just for guys running their own shop, or can a normal skilled tech actually make that kind of money working for a company?

If any plumbers currently working in norcal or socal can give me some real numbers or give me a reality check on wages vs living expenses, that would be really helpful. just wanna make sure im making a smart financial move before packing up my life.. so i need to know how much do plumbers make in california before we sign a lease out there, thanks guys

How to erase yourself from the internet?

Does anyone actually know how to erase yourself from the internet completely without losing your mind in the process? heres what happened… a couple days ago i randomly googled my own full name just out of curiosity, and i was HORRIFIED by what popped up. literally on the first page of google my full current home address, phone number, age, and even names of my family members were listed on like 5 different data broker sites. ive never opted into any of this stuff, so seeing my address just out there for anyone to look up made my stomach drop to be honest

I spent my entire sunday following manual removal links for each site one by one, filling out endless opt out forms and verifying my email. but then today i checked again and my info is ALREADY popping back up on new random aggregator sites ive never heard of. it feels awful knowing that and i just want to know how to erase yourself from the internet completely..

I know people talk about paid services like deleteme or incogni to handle this, but im trying to figure out if those are actually legit or just another cash grab?

If someone has proven step by step checklist on how to erase yourself from the internet, please share your tips. im honestly so frustrated right now, any advice would help a lot…

Cheapest foods to survive on right now?

Hey everyone, I believe someone here would know what are the cheapest foods to buy right now? I just moved into my first solo apartment and between rent, utilities, and deposit fees, my bank account is looking rough, I didnt imagine that it could actually look like this... I used to rely way too much on takeout, but I went grocery shopping yesterday and almost passed out at the register... Simple stuff like ground beef and eggs are so expensive?? I need to drop my grocery bill down to like $30-$40 a week for a bit, so I NEED to find out what are the cheapest foods to buy that will actually fill me up and keep me healthy

Ive been trying to map out a quick breakdown of basic budget staples to see whats actually worth buying and this is what I was able to find:

Cheapest foods Estimated cost Pros Cons
Dried beans and rice about $0.30 - $0.50 cheap, protein, lasts forever takes time to cook, gets boring fast
Rolled oats about $0.20 cheapest food here, filling, high fiber, easy breakfast needs peanut butter or fruit so it doesnt taste like cardboard lol
Frozen veggies about $0.50 - $0.75 doesnt rot in 3 days, good nutrients can get soggy if you microwave them
Bananas and canned tuna about $0.40 - $0.80 instant snacks, quick low effort protein bananas go soft quick

My main issue is that I dont want to end up eating plain ramen three meals a day because I will have no energy then

If youve ever had to live on a strict budget, what were your go to cheapest foods or cheap meal ideas that tasted decent and kept you full?
