Am I the only one who thinks Oda has been hiding Lafitte on purpose?

I was thinking about it, and it's weird how every major Blackbeard Pirate has gotten something. Burgess had Dressrosa, Shiryu got his fruit and has obvious Zoro parallels, Van Augur has been active in Egghead and Elbaf, Kuzan has had a massive role...

But Lafitte? Almost nothing.

The only big thing Oda ever let him do was casually walk into a Government meeting at Mary Geoise before the timeskip like it was nothing. Looking back, that's actually insane. Nobody even questioned how he got there.

What's also interesting is his name. Oda takes inspiration from real pirates all the time, and Lafitte immediately reminds me of Jean and Pierre Lafitte. They weren't famous because they were the strongest. They were famous because they were smugglers, manipulators, and knew how to stay ten steps ahead of everyone else.

That honestly sounds way more like One Piece Lafitte than another brute-force commander.

So what if we've all been looking at him the wrong way?

Instead of being Blackbeard's strongest commander, maybe he's his most important one.

Teach is the guy who starts the war. Lafitte is the guy who makes sure Teach can get where he needs to be.

It would also explain why Oda has kept literally everything about him hidden for so long. We still don't know the full extent of his abilities, his Devil Fruit hasn't been explained, and he's barely had any focus despite being one of Blackbeard's oldest crewmates.

It just feels intentional.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lafitte ends up being the piece that ties Blackbeard into the one piece or whatever Oda has planned for the final war.

Maybe I'm reaching, but I feel like Oda doesn't keep a character this mysterious for 20+ years unless he's saving him for something huge.

KYROS -His first skill, Gladiator King's Protection, creates a defensive zone that removes enemy ATK buffs and weakens their defenses, while his second skill, Thunder Soldier Slash, ignores damage reduction and deals increased damage to enemies relying on parameter boosts. His entire role is to stand on treasure, and completely cripple the offensive momentum of EX attackers.

REBECCA -gains speed when enemies have boosted parameters, and reduces the capture speed of nearby enemies. Whenever she dodges, she removes enemy ATK increases and recovers HP, making her extremely difficult for Wings Zoro & Sanji to lock down. Her first skill, Princess's Resolve, grants temporary invincibility, removes enemy buffs, and increases her movement speed, while her second skill, Corrida Counter, is a fast strike that ignores damage reduction and deals bonus damage to enemies with ATK boosts. Rebecca excels at stealing treasure, surviving through mobility, and constantly disrupting the buffs that make the Wings duo dangerous.
