Two of the smaller plants I put in are dying, remove them or leave them for the cleanup crew?

Hi all!

I’m getting my very first vivarium all settled in before I move in my crested gecko next month. Some smaller plants I put are very clearly not taking, and I’m wondering if it’s better to remove them from the system or leave them for my cleanup crew to deal with eventually. Any advice would be great!

Setting up misters later today, should I mist based on time to get live moss to root?

Hello all,

I have a misting system to set up (Mistking) and I have both the timer and the hygrometer controllers for it. Once I move my crested gecko in in a few months I will be using the hygrometer and thought I should start getting the plants acclimated to those conditions, but also realized that might not mist enough for the moss to take initially.

So should I start with the timer and switch the controller later? And if so, what you recommend for a timing in between mists? I live in a very dry environment so it dries out relatively quickly, I’ve been spraying it every 2 hours or so besides when I’m sleeping so far.

Bonus Question: how often should I water these plants beyond their misting? I did every day for the first few I’ve had them and they’re perking up but I don’t want to overwater so wondering if I should switch to every other day or maybe just a couple times a week.

Saw this guy hiding behind a sign before he got up to follow a woman who passed by. Called out to him to distract him

I saw him sitting by a sign as I left my apartment, okay normal whatever. But then a woman walks past him, and he waits 3 seconds then gets up and follows her. Something about it felt off, so I called out to him and he turned around to talk to me.

I said “Excuse me sir! How’s your night? I just wanted to see if you were having a good night, seems like you might’ve been following that woman.”

To which he replies “That’s my WIFE!” I lean over and look past him and this woman is blocks away, completely unaware of his existence.

“That’s weird she doesn’t seem too concerned with leaving you behind.” At this point my creepy meter was maxed out because he admitted he WAS following her and so I started filming which is what you see

My very first vivarium, can’t wait for the plants to grow out

Got all my new plants in yesterday including the live moss! I’m still waiting for an order to show up that has the hanging supplies I need to get the rest of my geckos items in there so I can get some more useable horizontal space at height.

Any tips before I put plants in?

I’m putting in the plants today, this will house my baby crested gecko.

I have ABG substrate and a drainage layer with a mesh screen, and I have a jungle dawn LED as well as springtails and isopods.

Does anyone have any advice for me before I get started? Anything you wish you knew?

The cork rounds on the background will be planters as well.
