Was Juna REALLY so good and sweet?

Bingeing the show yet again, I'm reminded that I never really accepted Juna as Valerie's adoring young friend. First she tells everyone that the writers were making a disgusting little skit about Valerie during one of their late-night sessions. Then she calls Valerie in Palm Springs and makes sure Valerie knows Paulie G is having a party to which everyone but Valerie is invited. There are other examples, perhaps most cruelly when she and the other cast members "forget" to tell Valerie they had changed their minds about the sickout.

In my opinion, Juna played very innocent and sweet but in reality she was just undermining Valerie in a more passive-aggressive fashion than Paulie G - especially about that party.

Her last scene in the finale should have included an apology for being such a fake ally.

Bill on NPR today

His interview on getting the Twain prize was as snooty and annoying as you can imagine. Among the tidbits: Previous recipients chosen over him, like Tina Fey, are nothing like Twain yet he is.

Steve Inskeep: How are you like Twain?

Bill: You haven't seen my show?

Valerie's rod

Rewatching S1 E12, when Val reveals she had a metal rod from when she had scoliosis. Just remembered Lisa's character in Romy & Michele had the same thing in high school. I wonder if Lisa did in her own youth.

Andrew Scott (the a**hole studio head)

Loved him in "Ripley" and now happy at his success in the D-Day hit "Pressure."

Just one of those things that struck me as odd. When Paulie and Tony take a boat out in Miami, Paulie cooks ziti or some other pasta meal for lunch.

Seems like an odd meal to have on a boat. A heavy meal doesn't really work too well when you're bobbing up and down in the hot sun, and the acid in the tomato sauce is especially bad news. Paulie never heard of sandwiches? EVERYTHING gotta be Italian?
