Power Steering and auto stop/start

Hey! I've had my golf SV mk7 for around a month now. Been loving it, drives nice and smooth and feels solid!

One question I can't seem to find an answer to though , it's got auto stop/start which I've never had before but when it cuts out the power steering goes as well.

I've only noticed it really because I was coming to a roundabout, slowed up to a stop but then immediately went to pull away right as the stop/start cut out, for a second the steering went. I noticed it today as well in traffic, it's fine once the engine is back on.

Is this normal for the stop/start system? Could my battery or alternator be on its way out?

I don't want to call the garage if this is normal behaviour.

2017 Mk7 sportsvan I picked up this week

Been loving it so far! I had the choice between this and a black 2018 mk7.5 but I preferred the interior and look of this one! Something about physical buttons that I find satisfying!

Why is it like this

Been playing around a year, 2 weeks ago I had the round of my life at my local course shooting 45 where I'm usually 56, everything clicked and I felt like this was it!

Hadn't played since so went to the range last night, out of 100 balls I sliced almost all of them and the ones I didn't slice I topped. I counted 4 proper hits!

This game just gives you hope only to take it away the next day!

Golf SV 2017 or 2018

Just got rid of my mokka x.... Currently looking at two Golf SVs to replace

2018 VW Golf SV 1.5 TSI EVO GT DSG against the 2017 VW Golf 1.4 TSI ACT GT DSG

I've driven the 2017 and I loved it so I've got a reserve on the car but I've seen the dealership also have the 2018.

From what I can see the main difference is the interior and the info system. Cost wise I'm looking at about 1k difference and an extra 7k miles on the 2018 over the 2017.

Anyone with experience with both able to weigh in on the best choice?

I'm looking for practicality and reliability, the mokka was anything but either!

I'm currently swaying towards 2017 just because I prefer physical buttons and I can't get android auto unlocked at an additional charge.

Heat Pump without solar (yet)

Hey! Hoping this is the place to ask and I can get some real world advice!

We're re-mortgaging next month and going to get about 10k overshoot we've decided to keep to do some home improvements. The item at the top of the list is the boiler! We currently have the standard system, boiler in the kitchen, cylinder in the airing cupboard and cold water in the roof. I've got 2 quotes from our energy provider, one for a combi boiler to remove the cylinder and tank, moving the boiler into the airing cupboard and one for a heat pump system: Worcester Bosch Compress 2000 AWF 8kW to be exact.

I want to add solar panels and a battery at some point but that will likely be 5ish years down the road.

Is it worth getting a heat pump now and then solar later or should I just go for the gas boiler and then upgrade everything at the same time in say 10/15 years.

Edit: it's a 4 bed detached house with a bath and 2 showers , 9 radiators whcih also need replacing

Thank you all! I'm going go the heat pump route! :)

Looking for a monitor sub £150

I'm moving from an ultrawide back to a 1440 27 inch but struggling with choice!

My current top running is the MSI MAG 274CQ6PF but any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My old monitor was an ultrawide IPS, I use it for work and gaming. The games I play are grand strategies like vic3 or EU5 and then rts age of empires 2/4. I game in a dark room and I found the IPS bleed on my old monitor really bad. The monitor also sits on the curve of my desk so I was thinking a curved VA panel would be ideal but I'd like to know how/if the smearing is really as bad as people say or if it's people loyal to their preferred tech.

I like to keep monitors for 5+ years , I went from a super old TN panel to my IPS and have never tried va or curved.
