Policy around baked goods- North West

Hello,

There is an ambulance station nearby. I'd love to make a cake for the paramedics and staff that work there as a way to show how grateful I am for the work you do.

My Mum says that you won't be able to accept it because it'll be home baked.

Is that correct?

How to deal with a confrontational neighbour when their garden is a health hazard?

Hello,

I've (40F) lived in my house for around 15 years. This neighbour moved in around 18 months ago. I'm going through a divorce and having to live with my ex. I'm also disabled and going through the process of getting social care involved.

I know in the first instance it is always worth speaking to your neighbour when you have an issue, but I can hear her screaming and yelling virtually every day- and I know that it is at different people. She intimidates me and I'm not exactly fighting fit with so much of my attention being tied to the end of a 21 year relationship.

We both have dogs. I have 2 small/medium sized dogs and she has three dogs. 2 of whom are XL Bully crosses. She has not picked up after them in the entire time that she has lived there. When she had a partner he would. But he has been out of the picture since December.

We have a chain link fence dividing our gardens and I can't afford to replace it.

When it's dry and dusty (her back garden is literally just dirt), I'm worried that the dust blowing into my back garden has faeces in it.

I find peace in nature and so I have always enjoyed sitting in my back garden. I haven't been able to do that for more than a couple of minutes because the smell has always been awful. But as it's been drier recently dust blew in my face and I'm worried about the potential health risks involved.

I don't know how to broach it with her when I have to continue to live next door to her. She is already quite a thoughtless neighbour (plays her music loudly until around 5am some nights) and I don't want her to focus her efforts on retaliating.

I'm due to have an occupational health assessment soon, and I'm wondering if there's something they could do? Or if internet strangers have any other ideas or suggestions?

Thank you.

I was so blind.

I never questioned why you were so willing to receive so much or why I was prepared to accept so little.

You were never unkind

And I had no idea that your love was so brittle.

I never noticed that I was buying your affection,

Cashing in for attention,

Investing in a future

And declaring a bankrupt relationship.

I saw the smiles in the photos,

They were solely stored on my phone.

I noticed, but never questioned why.

Why wasn't my joy saved for your viewing pleasure?

I can't look at you now.

Because I'm scared that if I do, then I'll see the real you

And realise that you were there all along.

That perhaps I had loved the grains of you that fit inside the version of you that I created.

I miss that version of you.

I miss the version of me that loved you.

I don't like who you are right now

I don't like who I am either.

I was so blind.
