I'm proud of how I played Chondrus

My party, when Chondrus joined their crew, made an oath of peace with him. Both Chondrus and the party promised not to hurt each other, and Chondrus promised not to hurt their allies, until one day after the Oath of Peace ended. But Chondrus was tricky. He exploited the same loophole the deities use to attack each other.

Every few sessions or so, one of the crew of the Ultros would do something remarkably stupid. For example, Corinna opened a magical bag of storms Thylea gave the party to circumvent Sydon's weather nonsense. Versi and the party cleric ruined a deal the Vanished One made with Estor to become captain, purging the ghost from the VO and confining Estor to the cabin. This robbed the Ultros of some homebrewed power. Aesop became convinced that the lost dragons of the Dragonlords were confined to the Prison Cubes in the Nether Sea, leading the party to almost being eaten by a tarrasque.

At that point, Chondrus trapped the party in the Cube, and took the rest of the Ultros crew hostage when Lutheria rolled up. When the party got out and confronted him, Chondrus monologued about how he had planted ideas into people's heads that led to their poor decisions. He gloated that he had cost the party so much time, they would never reach Sydon before the Oath expired. Then he called in Lutheria, who politely gave the party the opportunity to surrender and change sides.

The party refused, of course, and fought. During the fight, Chondrus turned invisible and went around casting Sleep spells on people. When Lutheria finally fell, Chondrus broke down. He wept and raged and vowed to enact vengeance on the party, then raised his hands to attack them while they were vulnerable.

But the Furies on the ship didn't like that. They subdued Chondrus, read off his crimes, and dragged him off to the Isle of the Oathbreakers. And the party cleric, who was running a Prophecy build, managed to tell Chondrus she saw this coming before he got taken away.

A fun and fitting end for Fuckface Mcghee imho.

[CA] Coworker accused me of workplace harassment and walked out of work.

I work a weekend job for a mortuary. The job involves two people driving between multiple locations to clean chapels and cremate bodies. During weekend shifts, only two people are working unless there is a service. It takes two people to do this job. No more, no less.

I changed shifts from evening to days and almost immediately had problems with my new partner. Their previous partner warned me this person was difficult to work with and frequently fought with them, but I attributed that to two people just not getting along. As it turned out, my new partner was the problem. They did everything they could to avoid heavy lifting and outright refused to do paperwork.

I spent a few weeks trying to accommodate them, until I pulled my back loading a body into a vehicle. I asked them to help more with the heavy lifting that day, as I was in pain. They refused to and started complaining their back was hurting as well. I called them out and told them that neither of us would be able to do our jobs if they didn't help out. They accused me of bullying them and said I was making them feel uncomfortable. I apologized and just suffered for the rest of the day.

The following weekend, I was still hurting and asked them again to help more. They pulled the uncomfortable line again. So I just left them at that chapel to clean and process a cremation. I went to the other chapels, did my work there, and sent an email to our boss letting them know what was going on. When I finally returned to my partner, the chapel was not cleaned and the cremation was not processed. This should have taken them two hours. I was gone for six.

I decided to let it go and flopped down on a couch in the lobby to rest. It was the last half hour of our shift. My partner gets up, goes to get a mop, and starts cleaning the lobby. They asked how long I'd be sitting on the couch for. I told them until the end of my shift. They said they could not clean the chapel while I was sitting there, as my presence made them uncomfortable. I told them I wasn't moving. They put the mop away and stormed out of the chapel. I saw them get into their car outside and drive away.

Later that week, our boss sent us a group text asking us to meet him at one of the chapels at the start of our shift. We met him together and he told me my coworker had accused me of harassment. Our boss and the owner did an investigation, talked to our previous partners about our performance and how we handled disagreements, and came up with a solution. Given our disagreements, he proposed that we start our shifts at different chapels and only work together for tasks that required two people, like lifting a heavy person or signing off on cremations.

I was agreeable to this. All I wanted was my partner to do their part of our job. My partner was not. They had met with our boss earlier that week, and said they knew their accusations were not being taken seriously the second they saw I was in the group text. They said they could not work with me due to how uncomfortable I made them, said they'd be speaking with the owner, then stormed out of the meeting. They later told him they would not be returning to work that weekend. I'm worried that my partner will continue kicking this issue up the chain until someone decides to fire me to prevent a potential lawsuit.

As near as I can tell, I'm being accused of bullying my partner to the point they could not perform the tasks given to them. My defense is that they were not performing those tasks anyway, and have not been since before they were working with me. They had all day to work on their assignments while I was not around, but did not start until the last half hour of their shift that day, at which point they said they were too uncomfortable with me to continue working. Going back to my previous shift is not an option, because it has already been filled. The only way my partner could avoid working with me is quitting or getting me fired.

What did I do wrong, and what can I do to defend myself from these accusations?

I slept on Dragon Age rogues

In the yesteryears of gaming, back when Gamefaqs guides with ASCII art were still things, the DA fandom agreed that the best party makeup was two warriors, one rogue, and one mage, or one warrior, one rogue, and two mages. Two rogues, on higher difficulties, required too much micromanagement and would get deleted if an Elite-level enemy so much as sneezed on them. This was my experience as a teen trying to make his way through Nightmare Mode in the first three games, and this experience was shared by fans who were playing back then.

But now that I'm a creaky elder gamer with a few game challenges under his belt, I decided to challenge myself again with a constant two-rogue party in DAI Nightmare mode. And so far, it's been *hilariously* easy.

I'm playing DW Artificer and we're just carving shit up. I've got the whole party set up so I have a warrior SnS tank, a mage focusing on AoE damage and Barriers, an archery rogue built for single-target damage, and my character just drops mines and throws knives at everything. The only real variations, aside from specs and Cole being DW like me, is the spells the mages use. Everything dies. It's fucking ridiculous.

I always played a mage or warrior in these games to avoid the folly of double rogues. What a fool I was. We're deleting dragons like nothing. I can't wait to take on that rift with two pride demons.

Went for an East Asian Trevelyan. How did I do?

Apologies for pictures of a TV screen, I play console mostly.

I used Lucy Liu from Kill Bill as a reference, failed spectacularly, then goofed with the sliders until I got a face I liked.

This Trevelyan was a mage hunter for the Templars. Think one of the Templar assassins from DA2. Her dad was one of her superiors. She went with him to the Conclave, got blown up, and you know the rest.

My players want to open up two of the Prison Cubes at the same time

How, you ask?

  1. I kept the Ultros' ability to teleport between bodies of water at the cost of them having less time to sail around post-Mytros. Right now, they're in the Nether Sea and have fifteen out of thirty days left on the clock.

  2. Their plan is to split the party and pop open two of the Prison Cubes at the same time, to freak Lutheria tf out. They will leave one party member with some NPCs at one cube, then teleport to the other cube and time it so they open the cubes at the same time.

They hope to release the giant monsters inside and sic them on Lutheria. They figure wherever Lutheria is, she will go to investigate, run into one of the monsters, and get eaten by something.

This is as far as they've thought this plan out.

Running the next session is going to be fun.
