PDFGuru charged me $49/month after failing to unlock my PDF. Has anyone else dealt with this?
I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else has gone through something similar.
I needed to unlock a password-protected PDF, so I found PDF Guru. During checkout, I believed I was paying a one-time fee to unlock my document. I don't remember seeing anything that clearly indicated I was signing up for a recurring subscription.
The worst part is that they couldn't even unlock my PDF. I assumed that was the end of it.
Now after 2 months later, I checked my bank statement and was shocked to find that I'd been charged $49 per month for two months. I had no idea there was an active subscription.
So I ended up paying nearly $100 for a service that didn't even work.
I've already contacted their support requesting a full refund, but I'm curious:
- Has anyone else had a similar experience with PDF Guru?
- If they refuse, what are my best options? Should I file a chargeback with my bank or credit card company?
