I just recently upgraded to an iPhone 16 from an 11. It is a standard iPhone 16, fully updated to 26.5. I switched to Verizon, the phone is new and not refurbished.

I was having this issue on my old phone and assumed it was just because the phone was so old, however, even with this new phone, certain apps still crash every time I try to open them. It will sit on the load up screen for 30 seconds - 1 minute and then crashes back to home.

It’s the same apps on this phone that were crashing on the old phone with some random times where the app will suddenly open, I get logged in and then anytime I try to try to open it after that, it just crashes.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the apps, I’ve tried turning the phone off and hard resetting it. I’ve tried updating the apps, uninstalling it and reinstalling it again, same issue. Sometimes it will work once after deleting it and reinstalling it, but not usually. I’ve tried clearing it from my purchase history with the App Store which seems to make no difference.

Some of them make sense that they aren’t working well, Libby has never worked well on any phone I’ve had. But my bank app, Ring door bell app, Walmart, and random food apps just refuse to open. I try closing out the app or opening it from a browser, but it doesn’t make a difference.

I’ve read through these subreddits and FAQs and can’t find anyone who has actually successfully resolved this issue or it’s coming from a person who hasn’t updated their phone/app. I have an iPad 10 that is able to open all of these apps with no issue, but it’s inconvenient to switch back-and-forth between them just to be able to open my bank app or order groceries.
