Do u remember the last meal ur favorite family made you before they passed away?

My grandmother is 88 yrs old.. My mom and I go over to her house every Sunday. My grandma cooks and my mom and I do the dishes.

We never miss a Sunday unless someone's sick. Thos past Sunday I had some other things I should have been doing. So I wasn't going to go to my grandmas. But then something came over me and I thought what if this the last Sunday I get to eat what she cooks.

So I went to grandmas to eat and hang out. She made fried chicken, mashed potatoes, homemade Mac and cheese, garden grown green beans w/ ham, and chicken gravy. It was delicious. So happy I went.

That made me think about if that was the last meal she ever cooked me I would definitely remember that forever. And I would also miss her cooking.

How can people be so cold hearted

Last year My 74 yr old aunt was showing signs of dementia. She wasn't able to live alone anymore. My cousin (her son) and his wife moved in with her. My aunt was ok with this. Even though my cousins wife and my aunt have had physical altercations.

So my dad and my uncles sat down with my aunt, her son, daughter in law, and daughter and discussed the best care options for her. One cousin said she wasn't taking care of her due to their strained relationship. So her son said he would.

Over the past year my dad and uncles have tried to keep a relationship with my aunt. Her calls are monitored and always on speaker phone. She has lost a dramatic amount of weight. She was about 225 lbs April of last year. She has lost almost all her hair. Her insurance changed so she couldn't go to her normal Dr. And my cousin never got her a new primary care dr.

Which brings me to what's going on currently. I have another cousin who works at the hospital. She asked my cousin if she could tell our uncles that their sister is in the hospital. He said no.. so she asked if she could tell her brother. He said yes so she told her brother. And he contacted my dad and uncles.

I can't understand how someone could sit and let their mother rot from the inside out. My aunt weighs 130 lbs now. Her skin is sagging off of her. They had her in surgery and cut the infected dead tissue away. I hope it works and they don't have to amputate.

I'm struggling 😪. I'm calling social services Monday. My cousin was the brother I never had. We were inseparable when we were young. I was at his house or he was at mine. The guy I knew and loved would never treat his mom that way.

Thanks for listening. Please send some positive vibes over this way.
