I just had my first visit at the trans clinic in finland and it didn’t go well. Incase you don’t know they tend to be very gatekeepy and try to find any excuse they can to deny you healthcare blaming your ”transness” on things like trauma etc. And it’s looking to be a long process for me with how they said I have some trauma I haven’t gont thru in therapy. They warned me that I might get kicked out in the process because of this. They also have long ass waiting lists where 2-3 years is how long it would take in an ideal scenario for a neurotypical person without any mental or physical illnessess. For me it might take upwards of 4 years just for the diagnosis.

After that I’d have to be on their hormone regimen for a year which takes an additional half a year from the diagnosis and then i could get into the year-two year surgery queue.

Other option being private but for that I’ll have to save atleast 20000€ and the job market sucks ass here and it’ll take me still like 3-4 years to graduate from university.

Overall I can’t see myself being able to get surgery in my 20s which makes me really sad as I’m already 23 and I’ve known I wanted this procedure for like 3 years.
