Adaptation or it’s own thing? Can’t be both.
Alot of times when this musical is criticised for being too modern, people are Quick to say ”og but it is it’s own thing meant for a modern audience. Then when someone points out something that makes no sense in Epic as it is, people say "oh well, back in ancient greece-"
I’m confused, is this supposed to be it’s own thing for modern audiences or an adaptation that has to keep ancient greek sensibilities in mind? Because it fails to be either.
