Program changes
Has anyone here dealt with their programs being changed and adding new pre requisites? I've been a part time student in the Visual art compsci degree since 2022, and this year comp sci added a new class that's a pre req of pretty much every comp sci class, and visual arts added a new art history pre req. This would be fine if the communication was clear, but the different departments handled it very differently.
Comp sci sent an email out to everyone it affected and gave you a simple sheet to check yes or no if you wanted a pre req waiver for any classes. Within a day of me submitting this form it popped up on my registration that it was waived.
Visual arts, however, never sent any email out to me, so I emailed to enquire. No one got back to me for a week so I forwarded my email again. Then someone got back to me within about 30 seconds with a copy and paste response for a pre requisite form that will be submitted for "consideration" by the chair. It was my understanding there is no consideration and I can continue my program as outlined. They didn't reply to my questions about my degree. Am I really supposed to fill out this for for every single art class I take from here on out?
The most confusing part to me is I know many others in art degrees that this will affect, so I'm surprised no email has gone out on what to do for registration. Why can't they handle it as smoothly as the comp sci department did?
