I'm sorry, but making those bike lanes like that in the first place was stupid. Designing and implementing something in complete contrast to how every other bike lane is setup just doesn't make sense. I'm glad they are fixing it, but at a $750k price tag... I feel this could have been avoided in the first place.

I was just riding my bike down the rail trail and passed through a thick cloud of smoke. It took me zero seconds to see a pillar of smoke in the woods about 20 feet away, so I called the fire department and waited for them so I could bring them to the fire.
If you're gonna sneak into the woods to smoke, be smarter about it. If you're doing other brain dead stuff in the woods that could start a fire, ask yourself "has it been really hot and dry?" And if the answer is yes, go do your arson or whatever on the beach.
And If anybody wants to start defending smokers or dipshits with lighters in the woods because "mOsT wIlDfIrEs ArE fRoM lIGhTnInG"... Just find something more productive to do with your time.
I am wondering if I am just easily irritated, so asking for advice before I complain. I have an elderly neighbor who is playing perigrine falcon noises from 6am to almost 10pm at night. At first, it was every 1.5 minutes and he's now switched it to 2.5 but it's making me insane, especially on days I work from home. It's so loud I can hear it across the street with all of my windows closed. My husband approached him this weekend to let him know it was annoying, but his answer was that the birds stealing his cherries are even more annoying. I get that, but at what point do your own needs outweigh the needs for a relaxing outdoor environment? If I'm just being a perimenopausal hag let me know, I get easily annoyed these days! 😃
UPDATE! Bylaw came by and confirmed I was not crazy and that the sound was totally inappropriate! They spoke with my neighbor and the threat of a $250 fine everyday if he didn't comply has resulted in blissful silence. I'm shocked at how fast they dealt with the situation.

Posting this as a hail mary for a missing Nikon Coolpix camera lost at Strathcona Park. We were at Ralph Rivers campsite and likely lost it there or around auger point. Would really like the photos on the SD card as there are a lot of memories there! PLEASE let me know if you find it and I will pay to have it shipped back. my gf and i are literally JUST about to move there and while we were moving a couple things in today a neighbor mentioned one of the houses up the road is a big drug house and they're constantly getting broken into.
i like my stuff and would like to keep it. i do a lot of gardening and was planning to have pots of plants outside, and my gf is really worried someone is gonna bust in and let out our inside cat by accident.
