To those that have electric bikes/scooters

Be more fucking aware of your surroundings. I was crossing the crosswalk where Alder turns into St Ann’s 10 minutes ago. From the Seymour side to the NIEFS side.

This dumbass comes flying down the hill on his scooter and the only reason neither of us have major injuries is because I was paying attention and stopped. He should have stopped, there is a stop line there.

I reported it to the rcmp, but I keep hearing about kids getting into accidents with these things. How is there no permit needed? This guy was in the middle of the lane, not following the laws of the road. Good thing it had a headlight or I would have been seriously injured.

A few months ago I saw someone on an electric scooter on the new highway on the way into town. He was keeping pace, even going faster on the downslope than everybody in the left lane. He had no helmet, no protective gear at all, and he was wearing shorts.

The idiocy of some of these people is infuriating.

And wasn’t there a senior here in town that died after he was hit by a teen on an electric bike last year? (I was wrong about this)

God awful AI customer service

I was just trying to make sure they had my overdue bill as paid. Both times I typed “my” my keyboard instantly disappeared. After “I want to” (talk to a representative), there goes my keyboard.

And they cut me off, I can’t type at all even if I select any other reason to contact support.

Best poutine in Victoria BC?

Hey all I’m spending the week in Victoria and I’ve been seeing so much good poutine on here. I’m reallly craving some poutine.

I saw there’s L’Authentique and La Belle Patate, any preferences?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Shrinkage gaps?

It’s summer. It’s hot as fuck and your lumber is dry as a bone. Do you leave a gap between sheathing/decking(composite or PT)/ framing or PT framing?

I was working at my boss’ place yesterday afternoon, building some stairs for his new greenhouse. Composite deck boards. I had my mitres nice and tight and I get there this morning, there’s a 16th gap. For fucks sake I spent too much time on those steps.

I don’t work with composite much but I noticed the boards bowing out, I thought maybe the tops were expanding with the sun’s heat against asphalt but the boss said it was fine and I went ahead.
