Fido's Winback Team Doesn't Even Seem to Care Anymore

I joined Fido paying $29/month for 50GB. After 6 months, my bill increased to $32.50. I stayed with Fido for another 10 months at that price, but now my bill has increased again to $37.50.

I called and they agreed to bring my price back down to $32.50, but I told them that wasn't good enough anymore. I said I wanted to be at $30/month or less. They refused, so I left Fido.

Today, I got a call from their winback team. Their offer? $35/month for 60GB.

I told the agent that was actually worse than what I had been offered before leaving. His response was "Okay, thank you. Have a good day."

He didn't try to lower the price, ask what it would take to win me back, or make any attempt to keep me as a customer.

For anyone else who feels like Fido has stopped caring about retaining customers, I honestly think you're right. Even if I accepted the initial $32.50 offer, who knows how long until they would increase it again.

120GB, Talk & Text - Entry - Is US/Mexico Data Included?

I'm getting this 120GB plan offered to me, but I'm not totally clear if it's equivalent to my current 80GB Can/US/Mex plan where my data is also good to use in the US & Mexico. Because I spend a few weeks of the year in Mexico this is cheaper than buying a roaming plan when I go down there. Can anybody tell if the 120GB plan is in fact the same, or if it only includes Talk/Text in Mexico?

Update: I switched over and can confirm the new plan Account Change Confirmation shows "Access your data from Can+US+Mx".

Switch to Freedom experience

Hi all,

I’ve read a few posts where folks have discussed their experience switching from Fido to Freedom, but I was hoping to get a bit more feedback in terms of customer experience before making the switch.

For those who have switched, particularly in the past year, how has your experience been and are you satisfied with the service?

It seems particularly attractive right now since I’m planning a UK trip and the back to school plans include international roaming.

TIA!

Pixel 10 back ordered after agreeing to plan upgrade/renewal coming from an Pixel 7, what's going on?

I got an email from Fido offering me a 45$ plan with 130GB and a Pixel 10. Considering I was already paying 45 for less, and my Pixel 7 having seen better days, I figured why not!

The very next day I get an email saying the phone is back ordered and no date as of when I'd get it... In the meantime my plan was changed already.

I tried to contact them but apparently there's no more chat, and phones calls are by appointment? What the heck happened to this company in the past few years? I've been with them for 17 years now, this is crazy.

Anyone else in the same boat? Or has some insight as of what's going on?

Thanks!

Customer service

Is anyone having such difficulty getting to customer service about it a bill discrepancy? I tried calling and it keeps forcing for a call back and the call back is 4-5 days away. Can we not talk to a person on the phone right away anymore?

🚨🚨🚨 DONT USE FIDO - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE 🚨🚨🚨

I went to swap my plan to downgrade because I'm not paying more for the same crap, some dude who barely spoke English told me I could call back to get data added back because I'm a loyal customer. Cool, but I asked for his manager because I said that their policy to bury the dollar increase in their bills that nobody on pre auth looks at, yet they send me 20 email ads every month. I asked that they consider using one of those emails to warn me, and she treated me like an asshole for suggesting that. Sent a scathing review of the managers shitty customer service.

Called back tonight and could barely hear the lady who doesn't speak English through their crappy reception, she told me that I should get better reception (I'm calling on THEIR network!). She treated me like an asshole because I was trying to get free data (even though I referenced the # the guy told me to). I asked for a survey because I'm going to send another scrathing review of their shitty customer service.

Seriously, fuck Fido. They used to be bearable - now it's gotten so bad.

DON'T USE FIDO - BE WARNED! 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

10 years with Fido, but the latest 12% price increase crossed a line

$5 doesn't sound like much, but it's 12% of my monthly bill. Called to dispute, couldn't get past the AI bot which scheduled a call back in three days from now. I immediately proceeded to fill out the escalation form and got a no-reply email saying that as a gesture of goodwill, they removed $15 from my current bill, but the $5 charge is here to stay.

I'm thinking of switching to Freedom, as it seems like the best of the bad alternatives we, Canadians, are stuck with. I know Freedom has been recommended a lot here, but if anybody switched and regretted, I'd appreciate you sharing your experience.

Fido lost my business forever

Because of shady practices like uniterally increasing bill prices over and over (and over) again, who in their right mind would stay with this company? I am amazed they havent been sued and fined into oblivion. Doesnt matter if they put a clause in your contract saying they can increase your bill whenever they want, it is an abusive clause imo and therefore invalid and i would say even predatory and criminal. I am paying 40 bucks amonth now for better service and coverage with fizz, and im never looking back at rogers or fido.

Pixel 10 at 0$/ month

Fido is offering me a Pixel 10 for $0/month if I take a $45/month plan for 24 months.

Just wondering what the catch is. Can Fido increase the $45 plan price during those 24 months? Is the phone unlocked, and what happens if I want to leave Fido before the 24 months are up?

Has anyone taken this offer? Anything I should watch out for?

How long after leaving Fido am I considered a new activation if I return?

I'm planning to quit Fido and go to Freedom. If Freedom coverage is poor in my area (Burlington down to Niagara, ON) I would need to go back to Fido.

Does anyone know how long it takes for Fido to consider me a new customer? I ask because I assume I could get a better deal as new activation as opposed to a returning customer.

Fido blocking 5g

Fido is blocking 5g. I call support, and they say I did not buy phone from Fido and can not use 5G.

I never knew it was a requirement to buy phone from Fido to use 5g.

I bought my phone in North America.

Fido website says they use 5g bands as follows. 1900mhz n25, 1700/2100 mhz n66, 600mhz n71, and 2500mhz n41.

I check gsm arena website and my phone has these 5g bands.

I am waiting for CCTS to work with me. Fido is refusing to work with me.

My plan increased by $5

I’ve been with Fido for 8 years and changed my plan (still with Fido) last year during Black Friday. I was paying $33 pre-tax/ $39 after-tax. Last bill Fido increased my plan by $5 so now I’m paying $45 after-tax per month. Should I wait until Black Friday this year and see what deal they have? Or should I just leave and shop elsewhere? Which provider should I switch to?

Looking to switch carriers, need recommendations

If you left Fido, where did you switch to? I've been with Fido for over 20 years and am now looking to switch.

I've been advised that what I'm paying for the plan that I have is pretty garbage, and I'm also learning today that their customer service is not at all what it used to be. I haven't had to call them much during my time with them, so all the times I have, I remember the customer service being amazing, today I'm finding out otherwise.

I got charged for a service that should be included in my plan, so that's my reason for calling them. When looking at this bill, I also noticed they're doing a second rate increase on my bill going forward. Last time I just accepted it, this time I'm like what's the point if the customer service is worse than I had before, what am I paying more for? So I think it's time to look around.

I've been hearing people recommend Fizz and Freedom mostly. I've always known Freedom to have bad service quality when speaking on the phone or just trying to get service while using data for other users, has that since changed? How about Fizz, is the phone service good?

Thanks in advance for your help!

How can I get out of the constant plan increase?

I think I'm on some accelerated increase. Every 10 months my phone plan is being raised 5 dollars a month. How do I get out of it?

For context I was paying 29 a month for 80 gb data. It is now 37.50 a month for 80 gb data. I've gotten 2 price raises.
