Not receiving the "Yes" text to port out

I'm trying to port out to another carrier and I receive the "Hi, it's Fido! We received a request [ ... ]" text, but not the actual text that says reply "YES" or "NO".

It's been more than 90 minutes as well, so I've definitely waited long enough for the text to come. Do I just have better chances for this to work during a weekday or something?

Fido roam question

My parents both have Fido lines on my account and they travelled recently outside canada.

They didn’t intend to use roaming, but I guess turned on their phone and it may have connected to the network?

Either way, both lines got a $18 charge.

Why is it thaaat expensive to make a small mistake? Is there any way around it? Is there no way to turn off roaming for my slightly less technologically savvy parents?

I called Fido and ended up not being able to reach a human and just got scheduled for a call back next week. I’m thinking of moving to a different provider (maybe freedom) but want to ask what my options might be here.

I agree Fido gets to charge whatever they want but is there no recourse for an unintended mistake?

Also my friend had an old bell line that costs only $1 or something per message on roaming. They no longer have bell but doesn’t Fido have anything like this? It’s $18 or nothing?

Must look for alternatives? Within 3months price hike!

I have a call back scheduled within a few days and might ask for something to stay with them. If not, I found these options because I can’t risk a credit check in this short duration:
Koodo 4G: $25 for 25GB (Prepaid)
Fizz 4G: $25 for 25GB (Prepaid)
Any suggestions or open discussion?

Fido trying to scam on cancelation

Video shows me trying to cancel my account, the customer support lady told me that I couldn’t cancel my account because the billing cycle had already started, and that to call back on the 20/21st in order to cancel, It didn’t make sense to me so I asked to speak to the manager, after she put me on hold she came back and immediately said we could cancel you now.

If you ever try to cancel your plan and they say you cant until a certain date, that was a complete lie, always escalate it to the manager, they are trying to catch another month of your money.

What to do about vanishing service?

Has anyone had this experience?

I am a Fido user who lives next to a major provincial park. During peak times (holidays and weekends) my service becomes unavailable. This is a consistent pattern throughout the summer. Service operating as usual Monday to Thursday, and dead from Friday to Sunday. No texts or calls possible. No major outages reported.

What am I meant to do?

Winback Offers

Previously for Winback Offers, Fido/Rogers would charge an Activation Fee of $80 upfront, which was then rebated as a Bill Credit of $5 over 16 months.

The complaints were that this was essentially "forcing" people into a Contract, as if you left before the 16 months was up, you would forfeit the rebate.

Now that Fido/Rogers cannot charge Activation Fees anymore, I'm curious to know how the Winback Offers are being presented these days.

Fido Marketing Called

Did anyone get a call from Fido marketing that they will give you better plans? Is this legit ? They ask for my name and number and I said to them if you have it on file, you should know ? They asked how much I pay a month and will offer me discounted rate ?

It sounded off so I told them to call me back tomorrow.

Fido fraud

Hello,

I need help cancelling my Fido account.
Before leaving Canada permanently, I visited a Fido store to cancel my service. The representative told me that they could not process the cancellation in-store and instructed me to call customer support instead.

I have now left Canada permanently. Since then, I have tried calling Fido using other phone numbers, but I have not been able to reach a live agent. The AI assistant does not transfer my call, or the system disconnects the call before I can speak with anyone.
Meanwhile, I have already been charged for another month of service, even though I no longer live in Canada and cannot use the plan.

I also tried using their schedule call service but they only give option to call registered numbers.

How do I cancel my account effective immediately, stop any future billing, and let me know if the most recent monthly charge can be refunded since I have been trying to cancel the service.

Owned phone for 2 days - got stolen

I bought a new phone on Friday and went to pride on Sunday and guess what! It got pickpocketed!!! I’m so pissed out of my mind and there’s no support from Fido (or the police for that matter). I’ve called 611 they scheduled me for a call on FRIDAY LIKE WHAT??

I’m trying to accept the fact that I still have to pay the phone since I was still debating on buying insurance or not but I’m just so… so pissed and tired.

What are the chances that Fido takes pity on me? If anyone has gone through anything like this, some anecdotes would be nice :(

Getting charged after cancellation

I cancelled in June and obviously paid for june.

I now get a bill for the next month.

Askjack is useless as always. Is there a fido staff member lurking here? Why am I getting charged after cancellation. They even confirmed over the phone that I wouldn't be charged again. Now I can't talk to a specialist cause I left the country and don't have access to my number..

Fido always steals money one way or another.
