Limerick city quiet commuter towns

Hello. Towards the end of the year I'll finally have enough for a deposit for a house. However the only nice looking houses within my budget are outside the city in the surrounding commuter towns.

There are loads in Newsactle West for example but I've heard all kinds of opinions about that place. Some people say they've lived there for years and didn't have any issues, others say to stay away due to the "culture".

Could you kind people with more knowledge of the surrounding areas than myself help me out?

Towns I've been looking at:

Ennis

Shannon

Killaloe

Newcastle West

Abbeyfeale

Nenagh

Roscrea

Tipperary

Croom

Bruree

Kilmallock

I don't mind at all if there's nothing to do in the town, I actually prefer it that way. All I want is peace and quiet.

The only thing I don't want is antisocial behaviour, or culture as reddit tends to call it.

Also if you have information about a town not listed feel free to share as well.

Mortgage as a self employed person?

Hey all,

So I'm currently in the process of switching jobs. The company I will end up in is looking for a contractor, so I'll have to set up my own company for this. I plan on being a contractor once this contract ends anyway so I feel like it's the right move.

However, I know the likes of BOI and AIB look for at least 2-3 years of accounts for self employed people.

I'll have my 10% by early next year and would like to start applying for mortgages by then. Are there any brokers or banks out there that accept say one years worth of accounts?

If it helps the contract work I'll be doing is in the same industry I'm currently working in as a full time employee.
