My thoughts on the recent podcast episode

Honestly, I really enjoyed this episode. I love how Evelyn and Emily seem to be the type of people who can just move on from hate comments instead of letting them get to them. Emily accepting the hate comments she was reading and actually reacting positively to them was genuinely so fun to watch, and Evelyn was the same. I especially love that Evelyn doesn’t seem to care much about people commenting on her looks or trying to get a reaction out of her. I also don’t really understand why people feel the need to comment on her relationship status or say that she can’t be single for a while. Even if she wants to be in a relationship, that’s completely her choice. At that point, it just feels like hating for the sake of hating and getting involved in someone’s personal life.

I do think Evelyn gets more hate than the others because, honestly, she seems like an easier target but what I love most is that she genuinely doesn’t let it affect her. Emily seems similar in that way, which is probably why I enjoyed their reactions so much. Erica, on the other hand, clearly has a different personality. She seems more defensive and takes certain comments more seriously, and honestly, that’s fine too. Everyone handles criticism differently. I just really enjoyed seeing all three of their different personalities and reactions in this episode. It was actually such a fun watch.

DO I REALLY NEED UNI

I’m currently an A Level student in A2, and lately I’ve been questioning something I always assumed was a given: Do I actually want to go to university?

I’ve always been drawn towards social sciences, especially sociology. I genuinely love learning about society, people, social issues, and the way the world works.

But when I think about spending the next four years getting a degree, I keep asking myself: Is this really the best use of those four years for me?

I’m not someone who is naturally obsessed with academics or getting the highest grades possible. I love gaining knowledge when I’m genuinely interested in something, but I don’t see myself spending four years mainly focused on exams, assignments and a GPA.

At the same time, I know exactly what I’m passionate about.

I love speaking. I’ve participated in a lot of MUNs, and public speaking is something I genuinely enjoy and feel confident about.

That’s why I want to explore content creation.

I want to use my voice and my interest in sociology and social sciences to create content around social issues, ideas, opinions, and things happening around us. I want to research, learn, speak in front of a camera and build something of my own.

And I don’t want to stop there.

Alongside content creation, I want to spend these years developing skills that are becoming increasingly valuable — things like AI, video editing, digital media, communication, research and other

My thought process is simple:

Instead of spending four years getting a degree which has no value and then struggling to find a job and do 9 to 5, what if I spend those same four years building skills, creating content, gaining knowledge, and actually working towards something I’m passionate about?

But I also know there’s another side.

University gives you structure, a qualification, exposure, connections and a safety net. There’s also no guarantee that content creation will work out. Choosing a non traditional path comes with a lot of uncertainty.

And honestly, that scares me.

What scares me even more is the possibility of choosing university because everyone tells me I should, spending four years there, and eventually looking back and thinking:

“What if I had just taken the risk?”

I know people will say, “You can do all of this while going to university.”

And maybe you can.

But I know myself. University would probably take a huge amount of my time and energy, and I’m worried that I’d end up prioritising my degree and GPA while putting my actual passion on the side.

I also know there is a lot of pressure around having a degree and following the traditional path.

But honestly, “What will society think?” isn’t a convincing enough reason for me.

I don’t want to make a four-year decision just to make other people comfortable.

At the same time, I don’t want to romanticise the idea of “following your dreams” and ignore the risks.

So this is where I’m genuinely confused.

If you were in my position, what would you do?

Would you go to university

Would you take the risk and dedicate those years to building something independently?

Or is there a middle ground I’m not seeing?

I genuinely want to hear both sides

Emily ha being annoying and arrogant

Lately I’ve noticed a change in her attitude, especially since around graduation/prom and getting into NYU. She always thinks she is so smart but she is just avg . It feels like she dishes out jokes and teases her sisters all the time, but when they joke back, she doesn’t seem to take it well. She often gets defensive or annoyed, and sometimes even starts mocking them instead. The dynamic has started to feel one-sided. I’ve also noticed that when things go her way, she’s in a great mood, but when they don’t, she seems to get irritated pretty quickly. Of course, we only see what’s on camera, so I know we don’t know what she’s’s like in real life. But based on the recent videos, she comes across as more arrogant and rude than she used to, and it’s made the content less enjoyable for me. I miss the more lighthearted vibe their videos used to have. Does anyone else feel like her attitude has changed recently, or is it just me?

so today was my last paper......

Usually I feel so happy and relieved after finishing exams, but this time I honestly just feel stressed and disappointed.

Almost every paper I gave were kealed around it, and it’s heartbreaking seeing only Maths leaks getting proper acknowledgement while other subjects are being ignored. Honest students’ grades can genuinely get affected because of this.

This May/June session has honestly been mentally exhausting. Please raise your voices for rest of the leaks. Every student deserves fairness and justice.

People saying “Business thresholds are already high so no need to email Cambridge” genuinely make no sense to me.

If papers were kealed before the exam, obviously many people would score much higher than normal, which pushes thresholds even higher. Business P1 thresholds are already scary high sometimes imagine after leaks. Students who genuinely deserved an A could drop to a B, and B students could fall even lower just because the thresholds get inflated unfairly.

And P2 thresholds are usually lower, but if that got kealed too, then those thresholds can rise badly as well. This affects everyone’s expected grades, even honest students who worked hard fairly. That’s literally why people are concerned.

Nowadays people only care about thresholds and final grades, not whether the situation itself is fair or unfair. The students who genuinely worked hard are put at a disadvantage, while people who barely studied but got access to leaks are at an advantage. The fact that fairness does not seem to matter to people anymore is honestly really sad.

People asking why Cambridge only acknowledged Maths leaks and not Business/CS leaks or other here is the reason why:

it’s because Maths students immediately mass reported it with screenshots and evidence everywhere until Cambridge had to respond.

For other subjects, most people are only discussing it online instead of properly emailing Cambridge with proofs. If you want Cambridge to investigate, start sending evidence and build pressure respectfully. Every subject deserves fairness, not just Maths.
