Concert Review: Music Travel Love June 2026
Review from a hardcore 90's music lover. Really. JMac, Aaron Carter, Britney, A1, Blue, Westlife... Whenever they're in the PH, I'm at a show.
Ticket Price Review: Overpriced for the Show You're Getting. Cheapest is 3,180 and VIP is 6,095
To compare, same venue, A1's cheapest is 3,500 and VIP is 6,750.
On different venues, Zara Larsson ranges from 2,750 to 6,250. The Script ranges P1,650 to P14,950 (and that's SVIP with signed merch).

Show Review:
Two white guys with guitars singing cover songs. Nothing outstanding or different from how you hear them from their YT channel. So, it's basically paying for a loud-ass speaker to play you music for 1 and 1/2 hours.
They didn't start on time, and the setup is literally just two mic stands. The screen on the back is playing their YT videos. It's giving JB at Coachella — and you all know he got flack for doing this. Unpolished and very underwhelming.
Because MTL's whole discography is very stripped down versions of popular songs, the entire setlist felt flat. I wasn't expecting them to stray from their style at all, but a key change or a sudden switch by singing the Moffats classic "I'll be there for you" would have helped. I think they sang that in Singapore, but they skipped it entirely for this show. That would have been nice to hear a song that wasn't on their channel. An exclusive of some sort.
Their "highs" came at the hands of special guests. I don't know any of the artist, but the energy! Great energy from the local guests. One special guest in particular, Dave Moffat (aka the brother) had less stage presence than the other SEA guests — Which was sad.
Getting into more nuanced takes now, it was feeling like they resented being known for the Moffats era. Yes, they talked about it and acknowledged thanks, but you can tell they wanted to be known for non-Moffats accolades which, disappointingly for them, are now songs they didn't even create.
The crowd begging for an 'encore' didn't even sound genuine — and I don't blame the crowd. It's like we chanted 'encore' for the sake of it and it was a murmur compared to other loud and proud 'ENCORE' chants. We gave the energy we received.
They ended a show with a "new" song written for the Philippines. They acted like it was new, but it's been out for 8 months and is a glorified paid ad for local tourism, not exactly penned from the heart. Whish they added this in the middle instead of doing this as an encore, closing song. Wish they had something sing-along worthy as a closer. When they took their bows, nobody stood to clap in the balcony section. If they did, it was probably to get a picture or two, not because it felt earned.
MTL has felt, to me, like a duo that couldn't get recognition elsewhere so they're forced to cater to us. It's feeling like they're just using us a nostalgia-fueled cash grab. The show should be priced less. When the show was over, everyone just filed out and left. There wasn't a buzz in the air, nothing electric. Just another show.
Never paying hard-earned money for MTL again. Very disappointing show. I was sad to have missed their first one years ago, but now... 👎
