CIMA MCS November 2026 – What should you study before the pre-seen comes out on 25 September?
If you are sitting CIMA MCS in November 2026, I would not wait for the pre-seen to start studying.
The MCS pre-seen is due on 25 September, and the exam is 11–13 November.
That gives you around six to seven weeks with the actual pre-seen. I would not spend those weeks trying to relearn E2, P2 and F2 from scratch.
Before 25 September, I would focus on:
- E2 revision
- P2 revision
- F2 revision
- Case Study answer technique
- Past MCS question practice
- Applying technical knowledge rather than just remembering it
A simple test after revising any topic:
Could I explain this to my Finance Manager without looking at my notes?
Then:
Could I apply it if this became a problem in a real company?
If you can do both, you are in a decent position.
Once the November 2026 MCS pre-seen comes out, I would change the focus.
Start with the company itself.
Understand:
- How it makes money
- Customers
- Products/services
- Main costs
- Competitors
- Industry
- Risks
- Important stakeholders
Then connect E2, P2 and F2 to the company.
I would also avoid trying to predict exact exam questions. Identifying relevant topics is useful. Memorizing answers to predicted questions is risky because the unseen information can change what CIMA actually asks.
For answer technique, keep it simple:
Point → Apply it → Explain the impact
And when reviewing an answer, ask:
Could I copy this paragraph into an answer about almost any company?
If yes, it probably needs more application.
Then October should become much more about question practice, timed MCS mocks and fixing weaknesses from feedback.
I have put together a full CIMA MCS November 2026 study guide covering the study plan before 25 September, E2/P2/F2 revision, pre-seen preparation, answer technique and mocks.

I will also update the same guide when the November MCS pre-seen is released rather than creating a separate general guide.
For those sitting MCS in November: what are you focusing on before 25 September — E2, P2, F2 or answer technique?
