Thanks to OSSC, I can finally enjoy pixelated bikini girls from Sonic Adventure in maximum resolution.

Jokes aside, after weeks of waiting I finally got to try the OSSC with one of RetroTINK’s RGB SCART cables made specifically for the Dreamcast to enable 480p output, and I have to say the difference compared to my old Kaico adapter is huge.

The colors look spot on, and the image quality makes everything much clearer and easier to appreciate. One nice extra is the option to add scanlines. Personally, I’m not really using them because I don’t love the effect, but the fact that the feature is there definitely adds value and makes the device feel even more complete.

In my opinion, the OSSC might be one of the best upscalers in terms of price-to-performance. From the comparison videos I’ve seen online, the image quality doesn’t look that far off from a RetroTINK 5X, with the main difference being that the 5X literally costs about twice as much.

I’m honestly really happy with this purchase. Now I can finally enjoy all the beauty of Dreamcast games on my flat screen TV.

Are fps drops so common?

Long story short I'm playing some games on my old ps1 pal ; and I've noticed that some games drop fps so much that they are barely playable... Danger Girl and Spiderman 1 are both games that often drop frames and there's quite the input lag too (but that might be caused by the upscaler I'm using).

Anyway I wanted to know if that was normal, since I forgot how playing games 25 years ago was tbh.

Just to mention an example, the helicopter chasing level in spiderman was kind of a mess, I could eyeball like 20-25fps on average. And I can't find anything on the web that can confirm or disprove my experience 'cause everyone talking about games performance only does that for the emulation on modern hardware.p

This is the best-preserved copy of *The Legend of Dragoon* I’ve ever seen — and I only paid €90 for it.

A package showed up today, and I already knew what was supposed to be inside, but I still couldn’t have imagined just how incredible it would actually be once I opened it.

The photos really don’t do it justice, but this copy of The Legend of Dragoon is in almost flawless condition, aside from a few tiny scratches on the plastic case. The discs are completely spotless, like the previous owner never even put them in a PlayStation. I’m honestly blown away.

And the manual? The way the light reflects off the paper in the photos says it all. It’s insanely well preserved.

At this point I’m pretty sure I’ve used up all my luck for the year with this pickup. Absolutely over the moon.

We eatin' good with the fighting games tonight! 🌀

I managed to find these two fighting game gems and absolutely couldn't pass them up. The cases are in excellent condition, as is the disc. I can't wait to play them. I'm a huge DOA fan, but I haven't tried Soul Calibur. I picked it up because everyone is calling it one of the best games ever released on the platform, so I decided to give it a try.

I'm open to suggestions for future picks!

My first Dreamcast games

I've just recently bought a Dreamcast for the first time in my life and I'm slowly starting to build a collection of the games I've always wanted to play and own - this is my first Dreamcast haul we can say, how did I do? 🌀

I’ve always found it a bit odd how racing games used such unusual names, especially before I even realized some of them were spiritual successors to each other.

Then something clicked: Metropolis is the city where Superman lives, while Gotham is Batman’s city. That feels way too specific to be a coincidence.

Do you think this was intentional, or am I reading too much into it?
