Went to the gun range today and picked this up on the way home from a game store I like to stop by at out there. Was surprised at the decent condition of the label/cover-art, how it hadn't peeled off yet, and it even came with the foam insert so I scooped it up for my collection!

I really appreciate the feedback! I got about a hundred game ideas, which is awesome, so I've started going through them. I've weeded out several and come up with the first 10. I try to limit the games to 10 per page, and I've published it. For those interested the ones that made it are:

I remember playing the Parappa the Rapper demo that was included with the bundled sampler disc. I forget what other games were on there.

​I have a PS1 Fat (PU-22 motherboard). Unfortunately, my CD drive and spindle are broken, and I'm looking to stop using discs entirely.

​I’m trying to decide between installing an XStation or going with a PSIO. I’ve read about both, but I wanted to hear from the community:

​Which one is more reliable and suitable for the PU-22 board?

​Is the XStation installation (soldering) significantly harder than the PSIO setup?

​Are there any other options I should consider for playing games without discs?

​I'm looking for the most stable and long-term solution. Any advice or experiences you could share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is a bootleg record that was made a few years back, somehow they were able to get the original calypso voice actor to record lines for the outro

If you’re like me and you have a bunch of loosies in your collection, I found a solution that works for me. I bought a bunch of Christmas and throwaway cd’s in clear cases from a thrift store for .25 a piece and emptied them, then used a vintage Dymo embossing label maker I found to label the spines. I love how it looks!

jokes aside, ive came here to update you all on SymphonyRecomp, our recompilation of ps1 sotn, we got a LOT done

We have a new interface with customizations and localization for other languages, a lot of stability improvements and widescreen is now decent! we also have .chd support(wich was requested since the first release :p)

We also made an experimental asset replacement system, similar to what rt64 has for n64 recomps, it still in early stages and the documentaiton is not finished but you can have fun with it!

I hope you guys enjoy it! this is a passion project of mine and the entire team, we have put a LOT of energy and time on it, now development will be slower since my semester at uni started, and i want to focus on other projects, but i will still be arround updating and improving it to the most of my ability!

just a note, that i think its important to say nowdays, this project was made by human hands, this is not a vibecoded project, we made the entire recomp and toolset from scratch, in the age of AI-Everything i think this is important to say! this doesnt mean it is a flawless projects, we litle humans still a bit clumsy at times, but weve put a lot of effort to make 0.5b the most stable possible!

Does anyone remember their games having weird booting/starting screens on ps1 games back in the day. Went deep into youtube and google to search for a nostalgic thing about spyro 3 and I somewhat remember this showing up before my game started.

I’ve wanted one of these screens for AGES!! And finally got one. Only £219, for the screen, power cable, PS one, and a Harry Potter game!!

After the Cute Comments I got when I made a Fan Art Picture of Tifa Lockhart, I made a Fanart of Cloud Strife to go with it and I am very happy with the results!

I decided to buy an S-video cable to see if it makes a difference. I feel like my entire childhood growing up with a PSX was all one big blur - literally. If this is what a cheap $20 cable does, I am definitely buying the Sony cable next. My TV does not have SCART, and Imm glad it doesnt, I am clearly not ready for this lol. My PS5 pro is about to gather dust.
