Any way to force using a preferred Wi-Fi band ?
My router uses band steering, meaning both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands share the same SSID and the router decides which band your device connects to. The problem is it almost never picks 5GHz — I checked Connectivity Labs and I'm on 5GHz only about <=5%, even when I'm standing right next to the router. This is slashing my Wi-Fi speeds by over 50%.
Is there any way on the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE running Android 16 / One UI 8.5 to force the phone to prefer or exclusively use the 5GHz band? Hidden setting, developer option, third-party app — anything goes.
