nintendo.comAction-y games where you quickly (seconds to a minute) survive in an arena/single-ish screen.
I'm more looking for games where the goal is to avoid getting killed, but it's fine to do it back at 'em. Either way, I just don't want to meander around while I do it. And I want it to go fast. Any platform is fine.
Examples:
N++
The best example of what I'm looking for. No killin', just staying alive while you flip a switch to open the door, get to it and go thru. Each level can be completed in seconds.
Disc Room
Survive the discs to get to the next room.
Flat Heroes
Survive (and sometimes kill) long enough to make it to the next level.
Brotato
Violent keep away. Survive waves of enemies, each lasting seconds up to a minute. This one's kind of a stretch since you wanna be killing as many things as possible during the waves, but it really nails everything else.

nintendo.comRune Dice - Launch Trailer - DEMO available
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i7OvHrj2AY
Rune Dice is currently on sale for $12.74 until 5/26/26.
Toss dice to combine each into combos, sometimes you gotta use physics to push things along. After rolling the dice, you'll do damage to enemies and trigger any abilities (poison, money, dodge, backstab, etc) you've collected.
Got a very "One more play..." vibe to it. Demo is fairly generous, get to do the first stage which has branching paths like Slay the Spire or Peglin. Somewhat loosely feels like a Balatro for dice except there are enemy units instead of an ante.
