I ended up just going for it. It’s been a year, and was missing it. Decided to just make a new character.

Firstly, the new intro was actually good. “Generic isekai where you get on the wrong bus” didn’t really do it justice. I miss the old intro story, but this one looked and played better, and actually can apply to the other scenarios. Seeing Mitsuko show off her powers was good, though they severely lessened V’s involvement. It also felt like it might be more of a sequel, or an au where manibus won and either a new meta, or an au version of the old intro character, was brought in. At least, that’s the headcanon I’m going with. Also, as cute as V’s new little robot bird form is, I miss the old deviant form. I know we can use the old one for his gliding form, but it’s still the robot version out in the world.

The QoL changes make the game so much more enjoyable, though I haven’t really liked the new controller keybinds at all. Due to physical issues I struggle to play with kbm, and some of the controller changes feel really unintuitive.

Back when I used to play, I had breezed through the novice server, then when into a visional gravity server and got my ass kicked repeatedly, it was a big reason why I lost interest in playing back then. The changes to the gravity visional wheel this time have made it more enjoyable. Or maybe it’s because I decided to try a bounce build and it has been immensely fun. I like using bows in post apocalyptic settings, and I was really happy to find there’s an actual good bow weapon now instead of a crossbow. Seeing a single arrow just take out a whole pack of enemies has been hilarious.

It’s been taking some time to get used to the tech changes but they are good, and I’m enjoying hunting things down to unlock them rather than just spending tech points. With that said, is everything able to be found out in the world? I’m at the point where I need to upgrade to advanced workbenches. I found an advanced supplies bench and a better stove, but haven’t come across a gear bench yet. I figure it’s out there, but it got me thinking about what I can and can’t actually find. I assume I can just farm stuff for points to unlock things, but actually hunting them down is fun for the moment

I work in a special school for neurodivergent kids. As you can probably imagine, it’s not easy work. The pay is abysmal, the kids can be difficult and violent, and many of them have been through abuse and trauma which takes a toll on my mental health, but I like what I do. I went through a lot of what they did when I was younger, and I want to be the person for them that I wish I had. Overall the people I work with are all amazing and supportive, my boss is great, but there’s a clique of 3-4 women that make it hell.

I know for a fact that they gang up on people they don’t like and have made false reports about other staff to get them in trouble. They did the same to me earlier in the year, claiming that I ‘allowed a student to hug me and nuzzle his face into my chest,’ but there were thankfully plenty of witnesses who were able to say that was not what happened. At that time, I was working in a different part of the school as them, so I really only had to be around them for 5-10 mins in the morning, but about 6 weeks ago I got moved into the same part as them (which was, ironically, because they had to move people out of the class I am now in due to their excessive reports).

They constantly look through the windows into my classroom, insert themselves into interactions I have with students, undermine what I say and do. I emailed my boss a few weeks ago, not to report them but because I wanted it in writing what they were doing in case they tried to take it further. The boss held a restorative meeting between us to address their behaviour and things seemed to settle for a bit, but now they are already back at it. Today is my day off and another coworker I get along with messaged me to let me know that at today’s weekly staff meeting, that group tried to get me in trouble over…. Lollipops. Because a few weeks ago I brought in some lollipops for a single activity, and they were all gone by the end of that week. One student has already been bringing his own in each day before and after that, handing them out to his friends, someone from another class is doing the same thing, and these coworkers are trying to say that I have handed them out or left them out to get stolen and now it’s becoming a problem because they’re everywhere on the playground.

Thankfully some other coworkers defended me and pointed out those students brought them in themselves, it wasn’t me, but I’m just so tired of being targetted, having to feel on edge and defend myself over every little thing. I’m seriously considering finding a new job, which I don’t want to do because it’s notoriously hard to get anything more than a term by term contract in a school here, and I already have job security at this school with a permanent position
