M | 30 | Islam | Single | Dhaka | Software Engineer

Age, Gender & Height

30, Male, 5'8" (173 cm).

Brown-skinned and on the slimmer side (52 kg).

Preferred Age Range

No strong preference.

Location & Willingness to Relocate

Uttara. I've lived here for most of my adult life.

I once had the opportunity to move abroad but chose to stay. Relocating isn't practical for me at the moment, though I'm open to the possibility later in life.

Nationality

Bangladeshi.

Marital Status

Single. Never married.

Ideal Marriage Timeline

Around 3–5 years from now.

I'm interested in building a relationship first rather than treating marriage as something to rush into.

About Me

I spend a lot of time in the world of ideas.

Professionally, I'm analytical by nature and genuinely enjoy the work I do. I chose this career intentionally, and I'm fortunate that curiosity and work overlap quite a bit for me. I'm also ambitious, not because titles or status matter much to me, but because I enjoy the process of getting better at something meaningful. The feedback loop of learning, building, and improving is deeply satisfying.

Outside of work, I probably experience life a little more intensely than average. I tend to notice beauty in small things, and I've come to accept that beauty and suffering often coexist. I wouldn't trade that perspective for a simpler one.

Despite all the introspection, I'm fairly easygoing in person. I enjoy good conversations, dry humor, wandering cafés, and the kind of evenings where time disappears because the discussion is genuinely interesting.

What I'm Looking For

Someone who:

  • has a strong sense of independence
  • is emotionally mature and intellectually curious
  • tries to say what she genuinely believes to be true
  • appreciates nuance and the little things
  • has a sense of purpose rooted in a rich inner life

More than shared hobbies or personalities, I'm interested in how someone thinks and how they make sense of the world.

Religiosity

Spiritually reflective, though not traditionally religious. I value self-awareness, philosophical inquiry, and people who are willing to question their own assumptions.

Education

I studied Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics at a reputed private university.

While I naturally relate well to people with a similar academic background, I care much more about curiosity and the willingness to keep learning than credentials themselves.

Career

Machine Learning Engineer / Assistant Manager at a multinational company.

Do I Want Kids?

Depends on my partner.

Hobbies

  • Reading—classic literature, psychology, philosophy, art, culture, and Asian literature.
  • Writing (something I've recently returned to).
  • Exploring music and films.
  • Long conversations with friends or café acquaintances about ideas, people, and life.

Something Interesting About Me

I spend a lot of time examining my own thoughts. Sometimes it leads to useful insights; other times it's just overthinking with better vocabulary. I'm still figuring out which is which.

A Question For You

What's something you've changed your mind about in the last few years?

I'm less interested in what you think than in how you arrived there.

Preferred Method of Contact

A Reddit DM is a good place to start.

I'm not much of a texter and generally prefer face-to-face conversations, where far less gets lost between words. Once we've spoken a little, I'm happy to move to Discord.

I also don't use mainstream social media. No Facebook, no Instagram.

Need someone to have an open-ended discussion

Hello!

This might be pretty niche. I have already posted in a couple of Discord servers and haven't received any response.

So, I recently read Stoner by John Williams. I am exploring the character Edith, who is Stoner's wife. I am writing an essay that does a character study of her. I need to discuss some perspectives.

Here is the very rough draft of the essay's opening.

This essay is not about reviewing Stoner by John Edward Williams. I finished it 2 days ago, and I wanna explore the character Edith, Stoner’s wife. There doesn't seem to be much material about her online. Edith is cold and cruel; that’s the impression you will get upon first reading. And the general consensus online also suggests that. The novel is written from Stoner’s POV, and we, as readers, do not get any glimpse into her world. Did John Williams purposefully write her as cold, the saboteur, to make her the antagonist of the Stoners’ world? I don’t think that’s the case. To me, Stoner is a highly perceptive individual who lacks the vocabulary to portray his own world and, as a result, his wife's behavior. In a way, the novel never explains the actions and behavior of some of the major events that unfold. I would argue that its restraints on these matters are among its biggest strengths. In this essay, my primary goal is to try to explain her. Understand her. In that goal, I will abstain from making any value judgment. What I want to show at the end - She is unfinished as a human being. And the formation of her being is halted because she was not given the necessary equipment. And given all her effort, she couldn’t find her way to be ALIVE for a single moment in the entirety of the novel.

DM me if interested. Cheers.
