Car rental and driving conditions ?

Im gonna be driving all around the island trying to see every city I possibly can. I would like to get off highways and main roads as much as possible. Is it generally okay to drive a sedan outside of the coastal cities ? Or should I rent a 4wd vehicle. Also can anyone recommend some rental companies , do you think target, Charlie’s and coqui aqui are okay options ? Thank you 🙂

WhatsApp ??

How prevalent is the use of WhatsApp as opposed to regular cell service ? Is cell service/satellite and wifi around the island generally an issue ?

I’m potentially interested in taking some adult education certificate programs to help me start a career in a new field. They’re at a local, very reputable, adult education center. I was a janitor for 8 years, now have been a cook for 2 but cannot make much money in either field. Think I am interested in taking plumbing, electrical and carpentry certificate programs. They are roughly $1500 per class for 12, 3 hour classes. Has anyone done this to start a new career ? I see a lot of people doing these sorts of classes when they’re already in their established fields to gain certificates , but I am unsure if it will help me land a job with no outside experience… please let me know what you think

I bought this camper for $100. It’s generally in very good shape. Made completely out of fiberglass. Very lightweight. Been completely gutted. But the previous owner cut a hole in the pop top and made a skylight out of plexiglass and for some reason made a wood frame and glued plywood to the remainder of the pop top. It’s definitely too heavy to support and is sagging and allowing water to pool on top, and water also leaking through. I’m thinking the pop top needs to be completely removed and redone. Might go to a fabricator and have them recreate a lightweight frame for it. Anyone have any ideas/advice/experience etc.. would love to hear from yall 🤩

Hello , I’m 30m about an hour outside nyc. I’ve been working a job I hate the past 8 years (janitorial), but I quit a few months ago bc I just couldn’t deal with it anymore. I have saved about $60k. Got a new job that I love (health foods cook), but only making about $2500 a month now. I don’t have enough saved and am also not making enough monthly to afford to buy a home anywhere within 3 hours drive. And making just enough money to afford rent, transportation, insurance, food, etc.

Seems difficult to find something good paying with the experience I have in only janitorial and less than a year of cooking. I have no college. And can’t really afford any right now. Tried to start my own cleaning company but liability insurance was so incredibly expensive I will not be able to afford it.

Worried about my future.

It seems right now my only options are;

- continue working low paying jobs to pay my bills and contribute very little to my savings every month.

- move away to a more affordable area in hopes of establishing better standings to buy a home in a couple years

Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks 🙂
