Card consolidation done

Card consolidation done

After a multi month exercise, I am finally done with consolidation. I am closing my other lower end paid cards and will just keep the LTF ones such as Axis FK, OneCard etc.

As for my core stack, here is how I am planning to use it -

  1. Amex MRCC - Buy 4 × ₹5K Amazon Pay vouchers to hit the monthly milestone, then use the Amazon Pay balance for miscellaneous expenses.

  2. HDFC DCBM - My primary daily driver. I'll use it for most of my regular spending and extensively use SmartBuy vouchers.

  3. HSBC Premier - Backup for HDFC DCBM. I will also use it for booking flights/hotels if the deal is better on HSBC Hopper when compared to HDFC SmartBuy.

The plan is to move away from Cashback and entirely to Reward Points.

LIS Experience - Finally feeling better

I suffered from a chronic fissure for around a year. My life completely revolved around stool softeners, and every night I'd worry about what the next morning's bowel movement would be like.

No matter how carefully I managed my diet, hydration, fiber and stool softener, the occasional firmer stool would trigger the cycle again. The pain eventually became manageable, but the constant tightness and soreness never really went away. I honestly started fearing going to the restroom.

It not like it never healed. I followed a proper regimen of sitz baths, applying Nifedipine multiple times a day and taking stool softener. Even then, one bad food choice would reverse days and weeks of work.

I eventually decided to get LIS.

I had LIS + fissurectomy about 20 days ago. The first few bowel movements were uncomfortable but manageable. One of my biggest fears was losing control of gas or stool, but thankfully I haven't experienced any such issues.

There was some pain in the first week and specially in the first 3 days. My surgeon gave me pain meds to manage that. Overall recovery has been much smoother than I expected. At my day-10 checkup, the surgeon said everything was healing well. The pain gradually disappeared, There was some pink and yellow drainage which my surgeon said is normal as everything heals.

I had two fissures, at 12 and 6 o'clock. The 12 o'clock one is healed and the 6 o'clock one is almost healed.

Most importantly, the tightness is gone. I'm not scared anymore to go the restroom.

It has been 20 days since my surgery and I am free of discomfort and pain. Though, I am still taking stool softener, I can now eat anything without worrying and overall quality of life has improved a lot.

Thought I'll share my experience. Happy to answer any questions also in the comments.

Path to HDFC DCBM

I already hold HDFC Tata Neu Infinity and also HDFC Swiggy Card. I meet the eligibility criteria for HDFC DCBM. I understand its a core card and I would probably need to surrender the cobranded cards first.

I don't have my Salary Account with HDFC. My question is that if I surrender the cobranded cards, would HDFC directly offer DCBM? I don't want a very basic card and build my way up for DCBM.
