Film Study’s

About to sit the Leaving Cert and I’m trying to decide what courses from my CAO. I’m looking at film in trinity and to do it as a single honors degree. I’ve read up on it and watched the video on YouTube, but the video seems to be a bit older and dose not match up fully with what’s said currently on Trinity’s website.

Is there anyone currently in the course and what do you think of it ? And is it what you were expecting?

Thanks

I’ve always been a huge Starwars lego fan and I have more sets than I’d like to admit. But when I go online and see all the spectacular StarWars MOCs I just wonder where they get all the pieces from as I’d love to build some myself. But I hate breaking/taking apart sets from LEGO it’s just feels wrong to me.

If I want to start building MOCs do I just have to break some of my sets ?

Hey Connacht fans

Im a Leinster fan and I was having a wonder on Connacht’s academy’s website page and I noticed that just under 40% of your academy comes from just two schools in Leinster (St.Michaels and Blackrock).
Across Leinster’s whole squad (senior and academy) Rock and Michaels make up 40% as well. But with your set of players being practiacly Leinster rejects dose this concern you in any way that the players in the academy might not be up to scratch ?
In all Honesty I was quite shocked to see just two schools alone made up over a 1/3 of Leinster.

What are your thoughts ?

I accidentally deleted the original post so apologies for the repost/spam

I’m a friend of a family whose son has made it to an u13s Leinster cup final with his club Lansdowne. The final is set to be played against Terenure this Sunday in Energia Donnybrook.

Every year Lansdowne u13s go on a trip away and this year it happens to clash with the final this Sunday.

I’m not really involved and am just more of a by stander but what I have been told is that the trip was booked all the way back in Sept/ Oct.

It is understood that when the Lansdowne coaches realized they had a chance of making the final they asked Leinster to see if they were open to moving the date of the game should Lansdowne make it a as to avoid the potential clash with the trip. It is understood that Leinster were unwilling to do so.

Lansdowne won their semi final and made it to the final.

Last week Terenure won the other semi final and confirmed to Lansdowne that they were open to the game being moved to avoid the clash with the trip so Lansdowne could play in the final .

Where I and lots of others involved in Lansdowne and the other clubs that are aware about this predicament have an issue with is that the person organizing this specific final just won’t move the date for some unknown reason.

Both teams involved are all willing to play the game on Bank holiday Monday, the pitch is available but he doesn’t care he still won’t budge.

He has said that if Lansdowne can’t play the final then the team they beat in the semis ( blackrock) will take their place.

I would understand not changing the date of the final if it was an older age group or a higher level of rugby but there u13s (6th classer’s)

For the boys involved this was going to be their last official game with each other after many years playing together as minis/ youths before they go into first year in school.

The boys have also had to do various fundraising to go on the trip and it’s cruel to make them decide to go on a trip or play a final they have been working towards for the last few months. All because of one individual’s stubbornness.

Would really welcome your thoughts on this?

And if anyone can help/share this that would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t usually comment on here to much but I do like seeing what people’s opinions are on how Leinster do week to week. So I wanted to come on here and see what Leinster fans think of this situation.

A family member of mine plays for Lansdowne and his team has made it to a Leinster u13s cup final and it’s ment to be played this Saturday in Energia Donnybrook against Terenure. Evrey year the Lansdowne u13s get to go on a trip away and this year they are going on a rugby tour to France. This trip was booked back in September and it just so happens to clash with the final this weekend.

What I’ve been told is that when the Lansdowne coaches realized there was a chance of getting into the final they contacted coaches on the other side of the bracket to see if they would all be willing to play the final on a new date. All the other teams agreed. The Lansdowne semi final was a week before the other one so when Ternenure won their semi final they checked again to make sure that they would play the final on another date and they agreed with no problems at all.

Where my problem is the person in the Leinster branch who is organizing this final for what ever reason just won’t change the date of the game. Terenure have agreed to play the fixture on another day and this guy just won’t budge no matter what. Other clubs in the area have all stood with Lansdowne saying that the boys should play but he just won’t change the date. One Exscuse was that the pitch isn’t available on the new date that was proposed (Bank Holiday Monday) but in just a few hours Lansdowne were able to get the Donnybrook pitch available.

The person in the Leinster branch who is blocking the move is only a volunteer it’s not even his day to day job. I do know he’s associated with another club from the area but they were knocked out in the early stages. I know some people involved in Lansdowne have tried to get on to other people they know in Leinster and this guy blocking the changed date has threatened to resign from his role in Leinster if the date is change.

(🚨 reminder it’s u13s level - 6th classer’s🚨)

I’d understand not moving the final if it was at a higher age/level but I really don’t see the problem in playing the game a day or so later as there only u13.

What are your thoughts on the situation?

Are Lansdowne in the wrong for trying to get the game changed?

And is there anyone on here who knows someone who might be able to help or a way to get it changed?
