First kit WIP. What am I missing?

I have been slowly working away at basic rifleman kit over the past few months. I’m completely new to this, and have mostly been taking pointers and inspiration from posts on here, YouTube videos and historical photographs of 90s and early 2000s operators.

My full sustainment kit is being worked on and will be stowed in a modified Turkish ALICE pack. Belt kit and chest rig planned to hold the following:

Chest Rig:
-6-9 x magazines depending on rifle type
-1 compass, 1 multi-tool, 1 head lamp, 1 lighter, 1 construction site sharpie, 1 flare
-1 compression bandage, 1 TQ, 1 triangle bandage
-1 comms systems (planning to pack in unused smoke grenade pouch

Belt Kit:
-2 canteens
-Butt back contents: 1 poncho, 2 x spare socks, 1 rifle cleaning kit, 1500 calorie dry rations, IFAK kit (includes electrolytes and water purification tablets), paracord bundle

Any glaring issues? Any essential items or pouches missing? The butt pack is really crammed right now and I was considering added a GP pouch to the belt but I want to minimize unnecessary gear.

First time buyer. Need advice on sizing

I have been eyeing Jim Green boots for the past several months and I’m convinced they are my best option. I will be using the boots for hunting, hiking, rucking and military simulation overnight events. I had my feet measured today with a 3D scanner and also had measurements done with a Brannock device.

Per the Brannock device my measurements were the same (11L/11.5R), narrow ball of foot and narrow heels. I had planned to get the bush war boots with thick insoles. I’ve heard the RAT has a narrower construction but I don’t want such a heavy boot and would be inclined to go custom build if I went that route and perhaps customize on a narrower last. This would cost me twice as much as just buying stock boots.

Looking for any feedback from people with similar foot dimensions. Could the volume be remedied with insoles? Should I just go with a custom build? I’d appreciate any feedback.

H&R barrel swap. Would it be stupidly expensive/ not worthwhile?

I am planning an AR build, specifically looking to build a 723 with a 14.5” barrel registered as an SBR. I am specifically looking to avoid a pin and weld as I would like to be able to drop in a BFA that requires unscrewing the flash hider.

I really like the look of the grey anodized H&R uppers and lowers PSA is selling. My thoughts had been to buy one and swap the barrel with a 14.5” one from Green Mountain. This would require work that I don’t have the tools to do. The front sight post would need to be moved as would the mounting brackets for the hand guard. I’m not familiar with AR builds and im wondering if this sounds insane/ needlessly complicated or even impossible to do without damaging the parts.

Edit: I actually posted a picture of the exact product I want with 16” barrel and I thought it was a 14.5” P&W. Apologies. It can be chopped if I really want to do this.

Looking for a combat shirt with a traditional BDU style collar in M81 Woodland.

I’m not a fan of the quarter zip/ mandarin collars found on most combat shirts and would much prefer something with a traditional BDU fold down collar. I find that these protect my neck better from strap chafing and just look cooler. Pictures is a Leo Kohler shirt but unfortunately these are all in Europe and made in German or modern NATO camo patterns.

Edit: I did find something from First Tactical for people who are interested. It’s the V2 pro performance shirt. No sleeve pockets and solid colors only but it’s close to what I’m looking for.

Custom build SADF canteen cover

Looking for suggestions on someone to approach to commission this. It looks simple enough, basically a cordura version of a pattern 70 canteen cover. It would probably make more sense to have it built to be ALICE compatible rather than attach the hanger clip seen on the example provided
