Always loved this game. Since opening week in 2017. I'm working on a big video essay to do with PUBG and the advent of battle royal games. So, to get some modern research in, my old stomping crew and I decided to return to Pochinki after being apart for years.
We had a lot more fun than we expected. Seems like a lot of the hackers have moved on to extraction shooters, like most other people. Just a small video for fun. Always love jumping on with these lads.
I've had to fill out two separate intellectual property reports in 6 hours. And I've noticed a lot of these channels have been getting away with this shit for years, so here's me speaking up for genuine content creators. The ones who film and edit the content themselves. I have been farming clips organically in Squad for years now. Started off as something I did for fun with friends who played it, as well as something to do outside of helping to moderate servers, but I've always loved content creation. I've had to upgrade my rig several times to keep up with the demand it takes to film, store and edit my own content in these games. I work nightshift most nights to get by and this is my hobby, but I'd never say no to getting paid for it. In fact I'm waiting for the fucken day, but I digress.
There has been a HUGE influx of gaming channels that scout this reddit group, as well as other popular gaming gaming groups for clips. They will then cap them and reupload them onto their socials without ever letting the original creators know, and without giving them any credit. I have been trying to get my YouTube channel going for a long time now, so I'll usually always do video releases on THIS reddit group to line up with YouTube drops. Usually this reddit gets them before they go live so I can see how they'll gauge before I go anywhere else with them. I have been uploading to YouTube for YEARS. However, other socials like Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, I have taken longer to set up. Majority of the videos I've shared here and on YouTube have not made their way onto these socials...yet.
This doesn't mean you can have my material for other platforms without telling me. I know I'm not the only person who feels this way. It is SUCH a kick in the dick when you spend hours making edits to a point where they would entertain others, and others just take it for themselves. It shuts down any possibility of networking with others who see it who'd be interested in actually working with me to produce content instead of simply stealing it. I'm not getting paid for this. Why should you?
Ffs. Sit me and this guy both down to produce a video for you, and you're going to get one video from each of us, and they'll both be mine.
I've had other larger gaming channels reach out and ask to use my content, along with a credit and a link to my channel. That works for me! As a small channel the exposure means more than the views. But to just take it without asking, or even a link, in the hopes the original creators won't see it?! So lazy, and ratty and honestly, I can't think of anything else to call these people other than pieces of stepped on dogshit.
Not sure what else I can do here other than name and shame, and hope the joinsquad community stops supporting this leech.
