Unidentified deep water critter

Hi everyone, we caught this guy on the bottom in about 1400' of water this morning, about 100nm east of Corpus Christi, TX in the Gulf. Any ideas?

Mini split advice for commercial fishing boat

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on air conditioning for my boat. The current setup is a 12,000 BTU mini split for the downstairs quarters and a 12,000 BTU window unit upstairs in the wheelhouse. I've owned the boat 4 years and this is the AC system that was on the boat when I purchased it. Both units are due for replacement.

I'd like to run two separate 12,000 BTU mini splits. I've seen that Mitsubishi units are highly recommended, but also on the higher end of the price spectrum. It's going to be living in a pretty harsh environment and I'd expect to replace the unit every few years. I'm honestly surprised the first unit lasted as long as it did. So with that consideration, I'm wondering if it would be worth buying one of the cheaper brands. If so, can you point me to better/worse brands? Or just advise me generally? Thank you in advance.

Edit to add, I'm not concerned about heat.

Stormy Petrel bird offshore

We found him hunkered down on deck this morning. He's alert, but very lethargic, but does not appear to be injured. We're riding through what may turn into TS Arthur and little buddy was not having a good time outside. We brought him in and gave him a warm spot near the door, some food and water. He hasn't moved from that spot, didn't touch any food, and I don't think he drank any water. I'm assuming they don't drink much fresh water though.

We're going to be offshore for another 2 weeks, so the only help lil fella is going to get is whatever we can offer out here. Generally, when birds end up onboard, they're on their last legs, so we just try to not get too attached and keep them comfortable. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Edit: We're crossing the Gulf from Florida to Texas.

Stowaway crossing the controversially-named Gulf from Florida to Texas

My crew and I are moving my boat to Texas to fish for the summer. We found this little passenger onboard this morning, does anyone know what's this bird? Roughly hand-sized and has webbed feet.

Cuban racing pigeons

I found 2 pigeons floating about 100 miles offshore yesterday. They've been hanging out onboard since. They're Cuban racing pigeons.
