I moved to brisbane from Melbourne and have a full time job. I want to move in a share house because i find the livng env better.

I inspected over 8 places for shared housing and most of the them just have informal agreements rather than updating the lease. I find this peculiar as this as adding to the lease is the first step when moving in to a shared house in Melbourne. Im slightly worried about being kicked out for no reason and bond issues if not on the lease. I read that informal agreemets alos hold up legally but it seems peculiar.

What shared house experience/ dvice do you have that woudl help?

I will graduate from a PhD soon and am job hunting.

I wanted to know PR possibilities in Brisbane as I potentially get a post doc position at UQ.

I did my undergrad in applied mathematics and honours.

My PhD is in Bioinformatics at the University of Melbourne. My topic Intersection of machine learning, data science, statistics in biotechnological data. I did this in the school of maths and stats. I am one of the authors of a nature neuroscience paper. I also have about 7 months of internship experience.

I looked at the https://migration.qld.gov.au/occupation-lists/queensland-onshore-skilled-occupation-list list of skilled occupation. I'm not directly on it. But may fall under life scientist.

I can go on a 485 visa next, but I do want to settle in Australia as the rest of my family, parents and brother are here permanently.

What I require is advice on this matter and if anyone is in a similar field, how they got PR status in Brisbane.
