Advice for Marketing with Tech as a Career

If you had an AI engineering background but enjoyed strategy, marketing, and business much more than coding, would you stay in tech or pivot? Why?

Questions about scholarships at ESCP

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to apply to ESCP (particularly the MSc in Marketing & Digital Media) and wanted to learn more about scholarships from students who have been through the process.

If you received a scholarship (or know someone who did), I'd really appreciate your insights:

  • How much scholarship did you receive?
  • What do you think helped you secure it?
  • How competitive are scholarships at ESCP?
  • Is it mainly based on academics, work experience, leadership, or overall profile?
  • Does applying in the early admission rounds significantly improve scholarship chances?
  • Looking back, what would you have done differently to maximize your scholarship?

Thanks in advance! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone joined ESCP's MSc in Marketing & Digital Media from a technical background?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently pursuing a B. Tech in AI & Machine Learning and I'm very interested in applying to ESCP's MSc in Marketing & Digital Media.

I was wondering if anyone here has transitioned from an engineering, computer science, AI, or other technical background into this program.

If so, I'd love to know:

  1. How was the transition academically?
  2. Did your technical background help or make things more challenging?
  3. How were your career opportunities after graduation?
  4. Looking back, would you make the same decision again?

Would love to connect and have a chat.

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience.
Thanks!

Should I pursue a Master's right after my bachelor's or gain work experience first?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently pursuing a B. Tech in AI & Machine Learning and plan to study abroad in Europe.

I'm confused about whether I should:

  • Apply for a Master's immediately after graduating, or
  • Work for 1–2 years first and then pursue my Master's.

For those who have taken either path, do you think work experience made your Master's or career outcomes significantly better?

I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences and what you'd recommend. Thanks!

What would you do if you were 21?

If you were a 21-year-old AI engineering student today, knowing everything you know now, what would you specialize in?
AI , Tech , Marketing , Business ??

Has anyone transitioned from Tech to Marketing?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in my final yr of studying AI & ML , but over the past couple of years I've realized I'm much more interested in marketing, branding, consumer behavior, digital strategy, and the business side of technology.

I'm considering switching from a technical career to marketing through a master's degree, but I'm unsure if it's the right move.

Has anyone here made the transition from tech to marketing? What was your experience like? Do you regret it, or was it the best decision you made?

I'd love to hear your journey and any advice you have. Thanks!

Jio AirFiber customer support is an absolute joke. Been lied to for 3+ months. Should I just switch to Airtel?

I'm genuinely done with Jio at this point.

I've been using Jio AirFiber for a long time. In March 2026, my society went into redevelopment, so I requested a relocation. We shifted literally within the same locality. ( Mumbai's one of the good suburbs btw )

One guy came, took my old device after KYC. Another guy installed the new one.

Here's where the bullshit started.

The installation guy explicitly told me that my remaining 2 months of prepaid balance from the old connection would be transferred as a coupon. He said I first had to pay ₹1200 to activate the new connection, and then the coupon would be generated.

Fair enough. I trusted him.

Two months passed.

No coupon.

I called him.

Now he says, "Sir, company policy. Wait 90 days."

Okay...

I waited another month and even recharged ₹707 because I needed internet.

90 days completed.

Guess what?

Still no fu*king coupon.

Then he says, "Wait one more day."

Then my recharge expired.

Now comes the funniest part.

I tried calling Jio Customer Care.

Holy shit.

It's just an endless loop of automated voices. Press 1. Press 2. Go to the app. Visit the website. Repeat.

I JUST WANT TO TALK TO A HUMAN BEING.

So I literally went to a Reliance Digital store because I was so frustrated.

Even the employee there couldn't reach customer care properly. He started trying different numbers, even changing the last digit of the Jio Fixed Voice number until one finally connected to a real person.

First executive:
"I'll check and call you back."

Never called.

Second executive:
"Sir, you need to recharge another ₹707. Otherwise the account won't stay active and the coupon won't be generated."

WHAT??

So now after waiting 90 days... I have to recharge AGAIN?

What exactly was the point of making me wait 90 days then?

So I paid another ₹707 yesterday because apparently that's the only way to keep this circus running.

Now they're saying the coupon will come after this recharge also.

At this point I've spent way more money than I should have.

If someone had simply told me the truth in March, I would've just bought a 6-month plan and saved money.

Instead I've been paying month after month because every representative gives a completely different answer.

The worst part isn't even the money.

It's the customer service.

  • Nobody knows what's going on.
  • Every representative tells a different story.
  • Nobody calls back.
  • There's no proper escalation.
  • Talking to an actual human feels like unlocking a secret boss level.

So I have a few questions:

  • Has anyone actually received this relocation balance coupon?
  • Is this some scam sales reps use just to get installations done?
  • Does anyone from Jio actually know how this process works?
  • Or should I stop wasting my time and just switch to Airtel Xstream?

I've honestly never seen customer support this bad.

If anyone from Jio is reading this, customers aren't asking for favors. We're asking you to honor the promises your own employees made.
